Chapter 50 - Destroyed (Extra Chapter)

"Lucien. We are going as fast as the ship allows," said Idris, not looking up from the wheel.

Lucien had moved toward the edge of the deck before Idris caught his arm. The reminder was wordless. Lucien already knew what seawater would do to him. He pulled back, stood there for a moment with nowhere to put it, then dropped to the floor and started doing push-ups.

Lucien had a unique connection to Trafalgars, who were the first people to ever take care of him, even if it was only for a couple of nights. It hit him hard that there are kind people in the world. He then met their kid, who treated him like a big brother after he bought him the book on genetics he stole from Germa a while back.

The last time he went there was almost a year ago, and he knew Rocco had already found out that the real reason people were falling sick and dying was actually from Amber Lead poisoning that had been building up in their bodies and decreasing their immune system. It seemed like their life spans were actively decreasing.

Their youngest, Trafalgar Lami, was already sick at that point, only a few years old. Rocco had been preparing to take the hospital's doctors to the king to demand answers. Lucien had told him to ask if he needed anything and continued on his way.

It took them 2 complete weeks of non-stop travel to reach Flevance, but by the time they came by, Lucien couldn't see the dreamy town anymore, as all he could see were just grey coloured ashes floating around. The ground wasn't white like snow anymore, as it was instead just grey, and Lucien couldn't help but cough due to the smoke.

As he walked through the port and then into the market that was destroyed by the bombing that was written in the news story, there wasn't even a single person left in the entire town; it became a ghost kingdom. He reached the familiar hospital, which couldn't even be called a hospital anymore, as it was now blackened and completely broken.

Just as he was about to turn around, Lucien heard rumblings from inside and vanished from his place and arrived at the source, only to see pirates pillaging.

One look and Lucien knew which pirate crew this was. After years of bounty hunting, he knew most of the notable pirate groups in North Blue, and the one before him was a pirate crew famous for killing and robbing villages. They had no moral code as they even dug up tombstones, searching for valuables.

The captain, one-eyed, clocked Lucien's size and jerked his chin at him. "Find somewhere else. This hospital is ours. We got here first." as he waved his hand and shouted at his crew.

Listening to his words triggered something in Lucien as he was across the room with the captain's head in his hand. Before anyone could even react, he just crushed it. The crew members were shocked by their captain's sudden death, but before they could either attack Lucien or escape from there, they heard a loud click resonate throughout the empty, broken hospital and turned to see Idris pointing two pistols at them.

"Alright, friends, don't throw your lives for your captain, that's dumb. Just tell us where the survivors of Flevance went, and you can be on your merry way," asked idris. Lucien remained silent as he just dropped the pirate captain and continued to look at them.

"We don't know anything about the people here. We just came here yesterday," spoke out one of them, but Idris just pointed the gun at him and shot him right in the eyes. His expression didn't change as they just waited.

"We really don't know. We only know the royal family abandoned the people here and ran away the day before the other kingdoms bombed this place. They ran and took shelter at the queen's side of the family, which rules another kingdom not far from here. They didn't even tell the people that they were being bombed before they left; they just let them out here to die," explained another.

Idris didn't shoot this time; he turned towards Lucien instead, feeling Lucien's aura grow with each word the man spoke.

"The Survivors. Were there any?" said Lucien, one word after another, with each word spoken with greater weight after the last.

"The Survivors scattered, but I heard most of them went to Klance; they were the one kingdom that sheltered people around here, while the other kingdoms bombed Flevance," responded another, finally giving the answer Lucien wanted.

As soon as he heard the answer he wanted, Lucien simply brought out his sword, and what followed was a massacre,

"Why, we gave you the information," asked the final one with both hate and fear in his eyes.

"You tried to rob a place that was meant to heal people, and I didn't like it. That's all," responded Lucien, cutting the final head clean off the body.

With that, Lucien made his way to the Trafalgar house. It was in ruins. He couldn't go further. Too much rubble, and he was in a hurry to find out what he needed to find out.

They got back on the boat. Neither of them spoke during the ride. Klance was within a day's reach, and they made it before nightfall. The town's atmosphere was off, quieter than it should have been, people moving with their heads down. When Lucien stopped someone and asked about the Flevance survivors, he was told they were all in a containment area on the outskirts.

Rushing his way over there, Lucien finally saw Flevance people there with the white spots all over their body, it was easy to identify them. Just as he was about to cross the containment the guards there stopped him.

"Can't go any further. This is a containment area."
