Erin woke up to the cold dark room. She rubbed her eyes as she slowly got up. At first, she thought that Layla had turned on the air conditioning in their room when she remembered what had happened.
Opening the door outside, the world was just as dark as it was yesterday, indicating that it was still night time. Erin was familiar enough with other planets to know that they didn't always follow the typical 24 hour day night schedule that Earth did. Even back on planet Kilo, a full day was 20 hours.
Surprisingly, Erin wasn't all that sore or uncomfortable from sleeping on a bunch of books. A thought came in mind about something Layla said to her before how vampires went to sleep in coffins.
'Don't tell me I'm getting weird vampire habits now,' Erin thought.
