Penelope's heart dropped. For a moment, she was certain she'd misheard him.
Across the table, Francesca looked surprised. "Lord Ravenport?"
The servant bowed. "Yes, miss. He is waiting in the drawing room."
Penelope set her cup down too quickly causing the porcelain to strike the saucer with a sharp sound. At the sudden disruption, everyone looked at her.
She forced herself to relax, but she was already unraveling within. "I-I believe I have lost my appetite."
Francesca frowned. "Penelope—"
"Please excuse me," She pushed her chair back.
Lady Sophia immediately spoke. "Penelope, you needn't leave."
"I am fine," She said and looked toward the servant. "Where is Lord Ravenport?"
"He is waiting in the drawing room."
Penelope's stomach tightened. She had merely been awake for less than an hour, and he was already in the estate.
"I shall remain," Penelope said.
Francesca looked at her curiously. "I thought you were unwell."
