Contacting anyone Elle wouldn't want the Lightwavers to becomes impossible. They lose the ability to communicate with anyone until they become Elle. Any sense of group cohesion or unity goes out the window. Trying to communicate with anyone only brings with it an excruciating sense that it can't be done.
