Chapter 51 - Ingenium

I took a walk and ended looking up at the Iida workplace. Or the hero agency they ran.

'Engines attached to body parts…'

Pretty interesting power to be fair, the older Iida has engines from his elbows and the younger has it from his calves.

Their costumes were cool though, had nice designs. Matter of fact there's one standing right next to me- oh my god.

"Hello there!" It was Ingenium.

"Oh, hi."

'Does he think I'm a villain? That would be bad.'

"Are you thinking of becoming a hero?"

I looked at him.

"Well-"

An explosion went off only a street from here.

'Right next to a damn hero agency?!'

Myself and Ingenium turned in sync towards the explosion and he hopped the small railing to jump into the road.

CRACK!

The ground beneath me buckled as I jumped into the air, crossing over the opposite building where I landed on my ass.

'Missed it…'

I groaned and stood up. There was an overturned car with a huge dent in it and someone standing on the headlight just next to it.

Their head turned and looked towards me. Then her eyes widened as Ingenium blurred past me to help evacuate the civilians.

I had heard him while I assessed her.

She had cold grey eyes and what seemed to be very grey skin.

A rhino's horn stuck out of her forehead and was partially chipped.

Since Ingenium jump scared her she had turned away from me.

Out of the corner of her eye was myself, aiming a punch while mid air.

'If you can tank a car going fast, you can take this.'

However I swung at air as she seemingly burst upwards with great speed.

'Rhinoceros… they can be fast in short bursts.'

I grabbed the creaking lamppost by the top and launched myself upwards, right into the woman.

She had jumped upward leaving no room to move so I headbutted her stomach and pulled her shoulders down.

Now she was being stood on and we fell.

The ground cracked on impact and I could see drool leaking from the corner of her mouth.

I stood right on her stomach before hopping off, I didn't want the dust to clear only for me to be standing on her infront of the entire world.

Ingenium's engines roared as he appeared beside me and looked at the woman splayed on the ground.

"Did you save them?"

"Did you stop them?"

We said in unison only to then nod and reaffirm ourselves.

Silence passed as I picked up the villain and tied her hands together.

Ingenium watched in silence.

"You are a hero right?"

"Right?"

"Yeah I'm just thinking."

"Want to talk until the officers get here then?"

"Sure, let me dump my problems on you for a second."

He just took off his mask.

"I am the pro hero Ingenium, what about you?" He held out his hand.

I responded with a handshake. "I am Blitzen, also a pro hero."

"So, if you had a body that wouldn't be affected by smoking, would you smoke just because you could?"

He looked surprised. "If it's what you want, then that's fine but. Maybe you should also think about whether others might copy you, potentially those who will be affected by smoking. There's also that if you smoke it affects those around you."

"True. I might not try one then."

"Your choice."

'Smart guy.'

After the police arrived there were some reporters on the scene.

"Is this a new pro hero at your agency Ingenium?"

"Oh no, we just happened to collaborate today."

The reporter turned to me.

"So then who are you?"

"I'm a pro hero, and I've been one for a couple years but I was mainly travelling back then."

"Are you based in Hosu then?"

"No, I was just visiting today. I got bored and wanted to go sightseeing."

"Hmmm, okay well that concludes that. But before you go would you tell me your Hero name?"

"Yeah, names Blitzen."

The reporter shook our hands before leaving.

I took a look at Ingenium.

"We should have a race sometime."

"As long as it doesn't interfere with hero work."

I snorted before walking away.

'He got injured by Stain last time, that guy should be working as a vigilante somewhere right now…'

There was not much to uncover about Stain's past, he was just someone who wanted to be a hero but his quirk wasn't flashy enough.

I immediately took the train home and realised I hadn't had anything for dinner.

'To the shops I go…'

—Two months later—

The crime around myself had dwindled quite a bit. There was nothing but petty crime and I even personally brought criminals to the police station.

I was pretty well known in my little area. Some people asked for pictures and then once I took down my hood they actually recognised me.

It was not helpful for myself. I could develop narcissism at this point.

Currently, I was sitting on a park bench and looking up at the sky.

"I should move around more."

The places I had interests in was Mustafu and Hiroshima.

'Let's try and buy a hotel there then…'

For some reason the ground trembled a little and a short chubby man erupted from the earth. He placed a hand into his little crater and pulled out a duffle bag.

"You got a license for that?"

I was standing right behind him.

"Squeak!" He tried to grab the bag and run but I just put a hand on his shoulder.

"What's in here…"

I opened the duffel bag to see stacks of cash.

"Now this can't be legal."

I slowly turned my head to the culprit.

He was sweating like crazy so I grabbed him by the back of his shirt calmly before lifting him above the ground.

"Take me to the place you stole from."

'Well would you look at that.'

He had led me to a bank where multiple police cars were parked outside.

"I found him!" I called out.

It was the cat policeman again.

"Ah! There he is! He's been doing these heists for quite the while now…"

"Oh really." I looked at the little rascal.

"Heh. Heh…"

'Guess I caught a big one.'

A/N: hero rankings are twice a year apparently and one is in October so I would assume the other is in April I assume, aligns with school too.
