Before the Silence

Long before the rise of kingdoms, before the forging of crowns and thrones, there existed a world untouched by the ambitions of men.

That world was called Aethera.

It was a land of endless forests older than memory, mountains that pierced the clouds, and oceans so vast that no ship had ever dared to cross them. The winds moved freely across the valleys, and the stars watched over a world that had not yet learned the language of war.

But above this quiet world hung a sky unlike any other.

For Aethera was blessed—or perhaps cursed—with three moons.

The first was Lunara, the pale moon of wandering souls. Its silver light bathed the night in quiet stillness, and many believed it guided the spirits of the dead across the unseen veil.

The second was Elyndra, the blue moon of arcane light. From its glow, the earliest mystics claimed that magic itself was born, flowing like an invisible river through the bones of the earth.

The third was Varkesh, the crimson moon of war. Whenever its blood-colored light rose over the horizon, storms gathered, kingdoms trembled, and strange whispers echoed through the darkness.

For countless centuries the three moons traveled their silent paths across the heavens.

They never aligned.

And because of this, the world remained in balance.

But deep beneath the mountains and far below the oceans, older powers waited in the dark.

They were not creatures of flesh.

They were not born of the world.

They were the Ancient Demons, beings formed in the first chaos before the shaping of land and sea.

Twenty-one in number.

Each one an embodiment of destruction itself—plague, hatred, endless hunger, corruption, madness, and the breaking of time.

Together they were known in the oldest surviving scriptures as:The Twenty-One Lords of Ruin.

Their awakening would have devoured the world before history itself could begin.

And so the heavens answered.

From the falling light of the three moons and the raw essence of creation, thirteen sacred relics were forged.

Each relic carried a fragment of celestial power.

Each relic was capable of wounding even the ancient demons.

These relics were given to the first guardians of the world—warriors and sages whose names have long since vanished from history.

What followed was the First War of Aethera.

A war fought beneath burning skies and across shattered continents.

Mountains broke.

Oceans turned black with storm.

Entire civilizations disappeared into dust.

But in the end, the guardians prevailed.

One by one, the twenty-one demons were defeated and sealed away in hidden prisons scattered across the world.

Some beneath glaciers.

Some beneath deserts.

Some beneath ruins so ancient that even their names were forgotten.

And the thirteen relics were separated and scattered across the lands, so that no single kingdom would ever hold their combined power.

Thus began an age that historians would later call:The Long Silence.

For nearly a thousand years, the demons slept.

Kingdoms rose and fell.

Empires were born and buried by time.

And the ancient war faded into little more than a legend whispered by wandering scholars and forgotten monks.

But the heavens never stop moving.

And the sky remembers what the world chooses to forget.

Now, after centuries of quiet history, the paths of the three moons are changing.

Slowly.

Inevitably.

They are drawing closer to alignment.

Ancient texts are being unearthed from dusty libraries.

Scholars speak in uneasy whispers.

And deep beneath the earth, in prisons older than memory…

Something is stirring.

For when Lunara, Elyndra, and Varkesh finally stand together in the same sky—the ancient seals will weaken.

The prisons will tremble.

And the forgotten war will begin again.

This is the story of that age.

The age when the Thirteen Relics were sought once more.

When kingdoms trembled beneath the shadow of awakening demons.

And when the fate of the world rested in the hands of those brave enough to challenge the darkness.

The chronicles of that time begin here.

On the eve of The Three Moons Alignment.
