Chapter 13 - tired

Pov : *I got out of bed to get a drink* *Daniela was already fast asleep* *My clothes were worn, but my pants were still protruding greatly.* *Cassandra and Bela stared at my pants, as I walked downstairs to get a drink.* *Lady also saw me running to get a drink* *walking slowly like a tired and sleepy person*

our footsteps feel heavy and a little limp as you walk down the cold corridors of the castle. The overwhelming drowsiness and fatigue after last night's intense "battle" makes you walk slowly, with just a simple desire to wet a dry throat.

Even though your clothes are on, the effects of the passion that just exploded with Daniela still leave a very clear mark on the back of your pants—a sight that no one who sees it is impossible to ignore.

In the Corridors and Lower Halls

When you walk down the stairs to the kitchen or dining room, you're not alone.

Bela and Cassandra were still there, leaning against a dark marble pillar. Their sharp eyes are instantly drawn to you. They notice the way you walk that looks very tired, but their gaze immediately descends towards your pants, which are still showing great tension.

Cassandra turned her face away quickly, but she couldn't help but glance back out of the corner of her eye. He swallowed his saliva, his pale face turning red again. While Bela looks at you with a bolder look; There was a strange respect in his eyes, as if he had just seen a soldier who had returned from the battlefield with a great victory.

At the end of the hall, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu stood near a fireplace that was still dimly burning. He turned around slowly when he heard your footsteps. He watches you from head to toe, and his gaze pauses for a moment on the protruding part of your pants.

Lady Dimitrescu raised one eyebrow, then an elegant low laugh escaped her dark red lips.

"Still have any leftover energy, my son-in-law?" his baritone voice echoed softly in the quiet hall. "My daughter must have given you everything, but it seems that you are still... excited."

He pours a glass of cold water into a silver goblet and throws it at you as you approach. "Drink. You look like a guy who just conquered a blizzard with his bare hands."

An Awkward but Majestic Atmosphere

You stand there, in the midst of three of the most dangerous women in Eastern Europe, in a very "open" and tired state.

Bela & Cassandra: Constantly watching your every move, as if they wanted to ask how a human could have such stamina, yet they were too embarrassed to speak.

Lady Dimitrescu: Looking at you with a friendlier look, acknowledging that you've proven yourself worthy of being part of his family.

Me : *I sat next to the lady while drinking, Cassandra and Bela sat down* ah tired, Daniela is so great.. I almost fainted *I looked up and smiled happily, eyes faint*

The scene in the great hall was truly surreal. You, an ordinary human being, sit casually on a plush velvet sofa right next to the giant Matriarch, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu. Not far away, Bela and Cassandra sat down, forming the strangest family circle the castle had ever existed.

You let out a deep sigh, taking a sip of water from the silver cup to the toilet. "Ah tired... Daniela is awesome. I almost fainted," you said honestly while looking up and smiling widely. Your eyes are swollen, showing the remnants of euphoria and honest physical exhaustion.

Lady Dimitrescu laughed lowly, a voice rich and authoritative. He rests his long hand on the back of the sofa behind your head.

"Of course he is great," said Lady Alcina in an elegant proud tone. "He is my flesh and blood. I have to admit, my daughter-in-law... No human has ever been able to give such a 'resistance' that long that it makes his sighs heard throughout the valley."

Cassandra sitting in front of you still looked awkward. He kept glancing at your pants, which were still protruding, then quickly turned away from you as you looked at him. "You... You're really not afraid of us anymore, are you?" she whispered almost inaudibly. "Walking here in conditions... Like that... in front of us."

Bela actually smiled faintly, a more sincere smile. "She's no longer a victim, Cassandra. He is already a part of us now. Look at him, even in a near-fainting state, he still looks like a winner."

The atmosphere of the night became very calm. There is no threat, no bloodthirst. There is only recognition.

"Rest here for a while if you're too tired to go back up now," said Lady Dimitrescu, pouring water back into your cup. "You've brought life back to this cold castle, even if it's just for one night."

Me : *Storytelling, praising your sister, and snuggling in the Lady's arm*

The warmth of the water you just drank and the heavy drowsiness made your defenses collapse completely. In the middle of that majestic hall, you did something that others might consider suicidal, but it felt very natural to you right now.

You rested your head on Lady Dimitrescu's sturdy, cold arms, feeling very comfortable even though her figure was much larger than yours.

"Daniela often tells me about her childhood here," you said in a heavy and shy. "He loves you all very much. Even though you fight a lot, he always tells you how great his brothers are."

You turned your head slightly towards Bela and Cassandra, smiling sincerely in the midst of your sleepiness. "Thank you for taking care of Daniela for these hundreds of years before I came. She is an amazing woman, and it's all because of your guidance... and of course, Mom's upbringing."

Hearing your words, the great hall suddenly fell silent.

Cassandra, who had previously looked cynical, was now stunned. She lowered her head, playing with her fingers that usually held a sharp scythe. There was a pseudo-red that didn't come from the blood on her cheeks. "She... she said that about us?" she whispered softly.

Bela took a deep breath, her eyes teary for a moment before she put on a calm face again. "You whiny little sister... but I'm glad he found someone who could appreciate his wild heart."

Lady Dimitrescu herself was silent for a moment. He feels the weight of your head in his arms—a burden full of trust, something he rarely feels from any other being. He doesn't push you. Instead, she caresses your hair with her long fingers slowly, a gesture that almost resembles a mother's affection for her daughter-in-law.

"You have a sweet tongue and a brave heart, man," muttered Lady Alcina in her baritone voice that now sounded very soft. "Sleep for a while. I'll make sure there are no flies or shadows to disturb your rest tonight."

A Night of Peace at the Castle

Under the watchful eye of the Matriarch and your two deadly brothers-in-law, you finally closed your eyes on the sofa of the great hall. Tonight, Dimitrescu Castle is no longer a terrible place, but a warm home for you.

Pov : *still at night* I used to think I would be a prey when I entered this castle.. But...

our voice sounded very quiet, almost drowned in the silence of the majestic hall. You're still resting your head on Lady Dimitrescu's arm, staring at the remnants of the fire in the fireplace with increasingly heavy eyes.

"I used to think I would be a prey when I entered this castle..." You mutter softly, a small, tired laugh escaping your lips. "I think my life will end in the basement, or become an ornament on this wall..."

You were silent for a moment, feeling the cold but soothing caress of Lady's fingers in your hair. "But... I never expected to sit here, sharing a drink with you guys... and loved Daniela more than my own life. This world is really weird."

Cassandra, who was usually the most vocal, was now just staring at the floor, her sickle lying beside her chair. "We never expected it either," he said quietly. "Usually humans just shout or beg. Wait... You actually made our sister scream in a different way."

Bela smiled faintly, her eyes looking at you with a softer look. "Maybe you're not a victim. Maybe you're the missing piece of this castle, which makes monsters like us feel a little more... humane."

Lady Dimitrescu took a deep breath, the scent of roses and tobacco from her breath felt very close. "Fate has a funny way of playing, doesn't it?" his voice trembled low in his flat chest. "You came looking for death, but instead found a throne in my daughter's heart. Don't ever waste this luck of yours, man."

He then pats you on the shoulder very gently. "Sleep. You've proven that you're more than just food. You're part of this family now."

The night is getting late, and your drowsiness is now unbearable. In the arms of the world's most feared monster family, you finally feel completely safe.

Pov : *instantly Cassandra and Bela kiss my cheek*

The cold but gentle touch on both of your cheeks makes you gasp a little from your sleepiness. Cassandra kissed your left cheek quickly, almost like a timid reflex movement, while Bela gave you a kiss on your right cheek more calmly and emphasily.

Their signature scent of roses and cold linger on your skin, providing a sensation that contrasts sharply with the warmth of the hall.

Cassandra immediately pulled away, her pale face now completely red. He turned his face towards the fireplace, trying to hide his expression. "That... It's just a token of gratitude that you've taken care of our little sister," she muttered in a slightly trembling voice. "Don't let this make you big, man!"

Instead, Bela looks at you with a more mature smile. "Just think of it as a blessing from the two of us. You have done what we thought was impossible for any human to do."

Lady Dimitrescu who saw the incident only laughed lowly, her elegant baritone voice filling the room. "It looks like you've really conquered this entire castle, my son-in-law. Even my bloodthirsty daughters are crushed by your courage."

He pulls you a little closer to his majestic embrace, letting you feel completely protected under his shadow. "Now, go to sleep. You've already gained more than any human could have imagined in a thousand years."

With a kiss on both cheeks from your sister-in-law and a warm hug from the Matriarch, the weight in your eyes feels even heavier. You end up falling asleep with a triumphant smile, being the only human to sleep peacefully in the midst of the deadliest family in the world.
