Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 - Sunset

Sunset's posture was defensive, which was illogical; after all, this was the time for offence.

Is he wary of me? Ah, of course not.

Ladro looked past Sunset and the horde behind him.

Sunset sighed and dashed towards Ladro within a breath before delivering an uppercut. Ladro could not dodge it due to being distracted however, he could minimize the impact by moving his body in advance, dissipating most of the force firsthand.

While moving his neck and spine, Ladro delivered a devastating kick to Sunset's crotch. However, Sunset was unfazed.

This was the first problem

Sure, Ladro could fight without relying on granting his victim's pain, but that would make fighting a hundred of such much more problematic.

Suddenly the work Ladro had to do increased exponentially. He had to use fatal attacks on Sunset and use pain on others.

Ladro jumped backwards, keeping an eye on the whole battlefield before sighing. He could hide himself panting by sighing continuously and could use the facade of strength he had to make others think of him as a calamity.

Ladro instantly infused himself with moonlight and a woman running behind Sunset with starlight. Effectively dodging the attempt to hinder him by Sunset, he diffused himself of moonlight and ran towards the horde.

However, he felt his speed declining and coming to a halt momentarily before flying backwards.

He noticed the faint red hue on him, steadily getting brighter and brighter.

Ladro mass infused himself with moonlight to counter Sunset's infusion and ran towards the horde. It would take him half a breath to reach it.

He could still feel the steady flow of starlight being infused onto him by the monk, but he ignored it for now.

Sigh… sigh. Ladro sighed continuously, trying to hide his panting.

THUMB!

Just before he could reach the horde, however, a tall but slim figure stopped him.

An opportunity!

She was not going to miss this one. As her companions tried to fasten the 'catch the rainbow' guy, she was keeping an eye out for such moments.

Punching the maniac on his face, she infused him with as much moonlight as she could at the moment, leading him to be dragged towards the monk.

I can finally do something!

She and the bald man locked eyes for a moment before attacking Ladro once again. She had developed a keen eye now, thus she could vaguely see the stamina draining out of Ladro.

She let the monk fight him primarily, dragging Ladro back at times he tried to run.

Her dimly glowing red legs eviscerated Ladro's shining blue chest as she found a small opening, letting the monk catch his breath.

Huh

Soon she found that the monk was starting to cash in on the small openings Ladro eventually gave. They had been fighting for minutes, and the monk had caught on.

Snorting, she dashed towards Ladro, even when his back was not exposed, she attempted to kick it.

Well, that was what she made Ladro and Sunset believe. Instead, she zipped past Ladro by infusing the surrounding ground with moonlight and herself with starlight.

Sliding behind the overwhelmed monk, she clenched her hands and… Waited.

Ladro broke free once again, but the monk was surprisingly enduring, taking on Ladro head on, only attacking to defend or hinder.

However, this time, when the monk dashed to punch Ladro, she too ran behind sunset and dealt a devastating blow to his neck.

That should do it.

Her goal was to cash in the opportunity after all, not to stop Ladro. However, when the monk fell to his knees and allowed Sunset to look at the heavily panting maniac, her goal swiftly changed.

Dashing towards Ladro, she infused her leg with moonlight and…

Well before she could infuse Ladro's crotch with starlight, she felt herself getting soaked with moonlight.

Not her leg, rather she was enveloped in moonlight as she felt herself slow down.

Hurriedly she looked around, finding another man running away from Ladro, glowing red. She smiled and infused Ladro with starlight, leading him to fly towards herself too.

But Ladro seemed to glow a little too brightly. Before she could fathom what happened, Ladro landed a swift blow to her abdomen before swiftly retreating his hand and stickling two fingers into her eye sockets.

The plop sound drowned in the heavy rain as he swayed.

I am at my limit… my body cannot handle anything more.

Well, that was obvious. His goal was to fight the leaders individually. If not for Elias, who acted as a variable in the fight with Levine, and of course Levine, he would not have been attacked en masse.

At least Elias was done for.

However, he never intended to fight this way. It was too risky.

He swayed before stumbling back; his legs were giving up at this point. He had to force blood into his veins by the use of starlight and moonlight to provide his legs with oxygen as his agonized muscles throbbed.

He shivered as rose his hands, noticing that something felt different.

What a freak of nature

"It is quite impolite to stand above someone's head."

He glanced upward, looking at the man leisurely flowing above him. His dark purple hairs clung to his face as he rubbed his face.

Ladro immediately pointed his index finger at the half dead man, whispering 'dead saint's bow'.

Elias wondered if someone covered a grade 1 rod with grade one spikes and repeatedly bashed him until blood seeped into his eyes and destroyed his lungs, would that be equal to one trillionth of the pain he was in right now?

If someone would have bought him as a slave and made him work to his bone, till every muscle of his was sore, would that be equal to a lick of exhaustion he felt right now?

Confused he stood up and infused the water droplets in the rain continuously, he was supposed to fight someone again?

But the feeling of tens of laity asking him to do something was similar to the command of a slave owner.

Thus he rose into the air and stood above the bloodied boy.

Before he could react, an indistinct sound entered his ears a fraction before he felt his shoulder got assaulted by something extraordinarily small.

Elias tilted his head, amused as his eyes shone.

"That was… Genius!" he mumbled.

Soon he felt his whole body catching small objects, only for them to disappear in an instant. Even his neck became bloodied.

Elias pointed his finger below him, towards the maniac before whispering, "Rainwalker… Rainwalker's ally, that is a good name."

The man below him staggered and fell to his knees as Elias let out a loud laugh, his laughter seemed to overpower the heavens and subdue the rain.
