Chapter 4 - King of Hell and the Prince

Lucifer's dark eyes narrowed as the young man approached. There was something familiar about him.

"State your name," Lucifer commanded, his voice echoing through the vast hall.

He leaned forward on his throne, intrigued yet wary of the intruder.

"I am Naram-Sin… the current Prince of Akkad," the young man said calmly. "And I seek you as an ally."

Lucifer raised an eyebrow, surprised by the prince's audacity. Then he leaned back on his throne, studying Naram-Sin with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.

"An ally, you say?" Lucifer repeated, a mocking smile curling his lips. "And why should I, the Lord of Hell, aid you, Prince of Akkad?"

Naram-Sin's voice remained calm, almost playful:

"Ah, great King of Hell… eternity is dull, isn't it? Let's just say we'll have some fun. You'll slay, collect the souls of the fallen… and enjoy the adventures along the way."

Lucifer's smile widened. The boy had a point. Eternity was indeed monotonous—filled with the same screams and pleas for mercy day after day.

"You have piqued my interest, Prince Naram-Sin," he said, a trace of intrigue in his voice. "But I have one condition."

"And what is that?"

Lucifer leaned forward, fixing his gaze on Naram-Sin. "In exchange for my help, you will owe me a favor. A favor I may call upon when the time comes."

The prince caught a predatory glint, yet he said nothing.

"Do we have an agreement, Prince of Akkad?" Lucifer asked, his fangs glinting in the dim light.

Naram-Sin feigned contemplation. "Do I look foolish enough to agree to terms I do not understand? Explain… what is this service?"

Lucifer let out a soft, dark chuckle at the young prince's challenge. He respected the caution.

"You are clever," he admitted, tone threaded with respect. "The task is simple. When the time comes, I will ask you to deliver something… or someone. Someone of value. You will bring it—or them—to me, without questions. Is that clear?"

Naram-Sin's eyes narrowed. Did he truly believe he could intimidate him?

Lucifer smiled, amused by the defiance.

"Oh, I don't think so, young prince. You are known as a skilled warrior, a cunning leader. You value strength and ambition above all else."

He rose from his throne and circled Naram-Sin, his gaze sharp and calculating, like a predator sizing up its prey.

"And deep inside, you yearn for more than Akkad's throne. You want to carve a legend for yourself, to be remembered for generations."

Lucifer laughed softly, entertained by the prince's audacity.

"Wise. I respect mortals who think for themselves," he admitted, his tone almost admiring.

He stopped before the prince, looming over him, his eyes piercing every detail.

"Tell me, Prince Naram-Sin… is there anything you would not do for greater power? For eternal glory?"

Humiliation… enslavement… betrayal…

Lucifer laughed darkly. The prince's answer would reveal much, yet there was a sincerity he respected.

"I see there is a line you will not cross," he mused. "Quite noble, for one so young."

Lucifer stepped closer, his gaze unwavering. "But tell me, Prince Naram-Sin… what if the price of power… was a member of your family?"

The prince paused, calm but resolute. "That is the line of betrayal. I will not cross it, even if all creation demanded it."

Lucifer's dark laughter echoed through the hall, impressed by the challenge.

"Ah… dignity, is it? A noble sentiment indeed," he murmured, circling the prince, analyzing every nuance.

"I suppose you fear I might defile that precious dignity with my corrupting influence. But tell me, Prince…"

Stopping directly in front of Naram-Sin, a sinister, teasing smile on his lips, he whispered:

"Would you willingly sacrifice some of your dignity… for unimaginable power?"

Naram-Sin rolled his eyes slightly, a mocking smile playing at his lips.

"Talking to you is entertaining… I'll admit your cleverness. Shall we play?"

Lucifer grinned, amused by the prince's audacity.

"A game, you say? Now you have my attention."

"What kind of game, Prince Naram-Sin?"

Lucifer pressed him against the wall, enjoying himself.

"We play hide-and-seek…"

A cunning glint shone in Lucifer's eyes.

"And the prize, if I find you?"

Naram-Sin's voice was sharp, teasing:

"If you win… I give you my soul. If I win… I take yours."

Lucifer could not suppress a laugh at the young prince's audacity. He found the courage and boldness utterly entertaining.

"You dare gamble your soul… yet joke with me?"

Lucifer's smile widened.

"You have courage, Prince Naram-Sin. Very well… I accept your challenge."

Naram-Sin began the countdown:

"Four… five… six…"

Instead of hiding, he crept toward Lucifer's back, a mischievous grin on his face. When the count reached eight, Naram-Sin's smile widened further… then he kicked Lucifer's backside.

The portal activated, nullifying the pact. Naram-Sin leapt through, returning to the mortal world.

Laughing, he shouted mid-jump:

"I never said I'd keep my promise!"

And with that, Naram-Sin vanished, leaving Lucifer in Hell, boiling with anger yet powerless to respond, remembering the prince's audacity.
