I wake up as I feel a throbbing pain in my head. As I try to open my eyes my head suddenly feels as if it's going to explode so I leave them shut for the time being. Soon I'm forced to learn? Observe? something I don't know. But once the pain ended I start remembering things that aren't what I experienced but someone else's life and experiences.
"What the hell" I say in a different voice then the one I'm used to. I open my eyes but I see nothing it's just darkness it's black than black. As I registere this piece of information I begin panicking. "Shit oh shit am I actually blind" Whilst I'm still disturbed by my new voice that wasn't my priority. I start trying to wipe my face to see if I just don't feel something on my face. Of course there wasn't I was blind. "Fuck! Why me what did I do!" I shouted into who knows where. As I'm forced to grapple with my new void for sight. After a few more minutes of cursing I begin to calm down and think rationally. "Ok there's nothing to worry about I've just gotta find someone to help me no one would leave a blind person helpless if they saw one" As I spoke I began to focus on my new voice. My new voice sounded almost off putting to me whilst they weren't deep it wasn't soft. More of a mix but was definitely closer to a softer tone but still a bit eerie.
Taking that new bit of information on I had gone to stand up. But I can't I can feel all my limbs are there but that don't listen only my left arm. I begin panicking again but thankfully I managed to calm myself before I had a panic attack. I started to purely focus on my breathing taking long deep breaths. "Ok everything's going to be fine I'm gonna be safe".
I say to myself as I begin trying to feel around with my left arm I hear an annoying voice sounding almost like a shitty ai reading. As I think this I hear [Greetings host this is the One Time Template System]. Hearing that I'm deeply confused yet very interested as in my life… past life I had read some novels here and there. While not a big fan as I preferred actual books when I didn't have a new book I'd resort to reading a web novel and sometimes the mc would have a system. As I began sinking deeper into thought I was interrupted by the system voice. [Host let me explain your situation right now your in th world of Danmachi] as I heard those words I began to slightly panic I had read a few chapters of it and read some deep lore on it at some point. From what I remember its main point is on some kid named Bell and his journey or something.
As I finished my thoughts again the system spoke [It appears host knows a few basics of the world after doing a memory reading] the system voice said in its annoying voice [Host you have one draw to get a template from a video game or anime world would you like to draw?] It says and without hesitation I speak "Yes draw" I say slightly worried as I don't know who or what is on the list of templates. [Host has agreed to random draw beginning draw] without warning a screen appears in my view even though I'm blind and it's a massive wheel of names as I notice a few such as Rimuru, Zeno, Mineta, and Dio for the few I could see before it stopped. [Notice host has drawn Malenia Template] after a few seconds I few the same pain as when I gained my new memories. As it happens I hear the systems voice [Granting host Malenias memory's {Child Hood}] hearing that I'm slightly happy .
[Warning host you'll be granted the ability's good or bad of Malenia as you level up in this world examples being further developed memory's swordsman ship skills and the scarlet rot]. Hearing that I was glad but also worried the scarlet rot crippled Malenia as I start think out loud "System how can I obtain unalloyed gold?" I say out loud I knew the scarlet rot had slowly infested Malenia and the only reason she could fight was her brother Miquella got her unalloyed gold prosthetic limbs and sword. [Host you'll be granted the unalloyed gold once you join a Familia] after saying that the blue once in my 'vision' was gone. "System? Are you still there" I waited for a response that never came but after a while I suddenly heard a voice "Hello miss" I heard a voice that seemed to be male and I some how knew exactly where they were.
Then I realized I'd been left with a gift hyper acute hearing as I though this I looked in the man's direction and greeted back "Hello sir" I say in a nervous yet polite manner. "You all fine? your just sitting on the side of the road." Hearing that I was embarrassed slightly but I knew I couldn't do anything about it on my own. "Unfortunately I'm not" I say embarrassingly "I was on my way to Orario but as you can tell I'm blind and my body isn't in the best condition". As I say that the man responds after a second "Well I'm on the way to Orario myself if you want I can take you with me" he says.
Hearing that I feel like I'm washed with relief even if it's a lie as I don't want to stay on the side of the road and starve to death or die of thirst. I quickly respond "If you don't mind please I'd really appreciate the help" after a second I suddenly feel myself getting lifted up and end up being carried by him on his back. While I feel embarrassed I don't say anything choosing silence.
TIME SKIP 3 DAYS
It was a rather long three days and quite boring thankfully the man was telling the truth and had wanted to help me. During that time I never got the chance to learn his name but we had talking I'd learned just the basics on him his age which he's 19 and that he is heading to the city of Orario to be a adventure if possible. We both had slept mostly on the ground on the sides of the road on our journey to Orario while not the best it was definitely better then having to just sit on the side of the road if I refused his help. But on the third day we finally ended up at Orario.
He spoke on with me on his back on a hill in the distance from Orario. "It's such a beautiful city is it not?" He said I feel pretty insulted by the question before responding "It is the darkness is truly something else" I say with him realizing his mistake it felt like he shrunk with embarrassment. Which lead to us not talking as we headed to the gate of the city there was a long line but surprisingly didn't take long to get to our turn. The guard spoke in quite a rude tone "Drop the women and show your back give you name age and reason for coming" the guard said. And so the man carrying me out me on the ground before doing as the guard said I tried to listen for his name but even I couldn't hear it. And then it was my turn "My names Malenia I'm 17 and I've come to Orario to become a adventure" after I finished speaking the guard checked my back before I was allowed to go with the man helping me as he picked me up and we entered the gates. As we did the man spoke "I didn't think you'd want to become a adventure" as he said that I immediately retorted "saying I can't become a adventure because I'm blind?" The man had tried to defend himself but coundly explain himself properly. So we had gone through the city quietly to the adventure guild as we entered there was barely anyone due to it apparently being morning which was when most adventures went to the labyrinth.
So he'd been able to get to a receptionist quite fast. The receptionist spoke in a nice and respectful manner "Hello sir ma'am are you both here to become adventurers?" She asked with us both agreeing before she handed him two papers "please fill these out they will be to document you both as adventures. So he had quickly filled it both in before handing them back leaving the Familia part blank as he handed it to the receptionist she quickly spoke. "You both should join a Familia the dungeon is incredibly dangerous" she said in a worried tone the man had spoke "We know but we are unsure on how to join a Familia" he said calming the receptionist a bit before she handed a large book to him and she spoke "this book contains every god that has a Familia in Orario the guild will tell the Familia your trying to join and if your lucky theyll come and see if your a fit" After saying that the man had took the book and had gone to a bench and set me down with him opening the book "Any idea what Familia you want to join" he asked and I responded quickly "The Freya Familia" I said leaving him shocked "You sure? There's the strongest Familia you might not be able to even request to join" I nod "I'm sure" after that he focus's on reading the book as I go deep in thought as a think 'While Freya is a bit crazy she does have a strong Familia and she probably won't be interested in me as I'm sure she's not into the same sex… I think but that's not to worry about she likes to recruit people who fit her persona obsession of beauty and the soul and absolute devotion which I'm willing to offer' as I finished my thoughts he finishing reading.
"Alright I'm going to tell the receptionist what Familias we've chosen to attempt and join" he says and I respond with a light nod. So I wait on the bench for around 15 minutes before he returned and sat down next to me and I speak up "so what familia did you want to join?" After a moment he spoke "I want to join the Dionsysu Familia" I nod as we chatted the guild was working on the background contacting the Familias we wanted to join.
Unbeknownst to me apparently on my way to the guild Freya has noticed my soul due to it being a unique deep crimson red. Which lead to Freya developing a slight interest in me. In Freya room at the top of the Tower of Babel Freya was doing her usual thing watching the city of Orario before seeing the soul of someone who's was crimson red. Freya hears a knock on the door before it opens "Freya-sama the guild has someone who wants to join the Familia" Ottar said in a calm and respectful manner. Freya didn't even look back at him looking down at the city with a glass of wine "Who is it?" Freya asked in a curious tone. "It's a woman named Malenia she's blind and unable to move on her own from what I was informed by the guild. Freya took a sip of her win and on a whim spoke "Let her join".
Ottar replied promptly an respectfully "Yes Freya-sama I'll go and retrieve her from the guild" with that said Ottar left the room heading for the adventures guild. We go back to Malenia she had been left on her own in the adventures guild as the man he'd helped her had left heading to the Dionysus Familia and so Malenia waited and waited and waited for a few hours till she heard som approaching her and she looked in their direction she could tell based on the sound of the foot steps it was a larger person in build and hight. Before being allowed to finish her thoughts the person walking towards her stopped and looked down at Malenia as she looked up at him. With the man speaking "Are you Malenia?" The name said hearing the voice she knew it was Ottar Freyas right hand man. Without delay she responded "I am and you?" Ottar responded quickly "I'm Ottar I'm here to to take you to Freya-sama"
I nod "ok I understand" after waiting for a few moments he hadn't moved a inch nor muscle. "I can't walk you'll have to carry me" I say in a embarrassed voice without too much delay Ottar picks me up and we begin moving quickly through the city heading to the Tower of Babel. The way their was a suffocating silence but thankfully he was fast and we had quickly got to the outside of Freyas room. With him knocking on the door and entering in and speaking "Greetings my lord" Ottar spoke respectfully. Wanting a good impression I follow Ottara example "greetings lord" I say slightly nervously.
Whilst I was nervous Freyas mind was moving fast whilst staring at Malenina 'Her soul is so red it's like it'd burn me' she thought but don't dwell much on it having Ottar lay me on my stomach my shirt lifted up and she pricked her finger and let a drop of her blood fall on my back. It had felt incredible soothing and warm but Freya was left in shambles in her mind due to my status with her taking a few minutes of calm her self "It seems your quite the rare talent Malenia" she said as he put my status on paper and handed it to me
