Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 –The Call of Time

The city clock struck three in the morning, but for Haru, that hour didn't truly exist.

The deserted streets, illuminated only by flickering lamps and old streetlights, seemed to echo a melody that only he could hear — the ticking of something beyond time, something no one else could perceive.

He had always felt it.

As if he were out of sync with the world.

A building that trembled for a second.

A shadow that moved without an owner.

Wind that blew in the wrong direction.

Small cracks in reality. Insignificant to everyone else.

But to Haru, they were signs.

He walked through the narrow streets of the city with his hands in his pockets, observing every detail: the reflection of a broken window, the water in puddles rippling strangely, as if remembering something that had not happened yet.

The entire city slept.

But he couldn't.

Something inside him told him that this night would not be ordinary. A sharp crack broke the silence.

Haru froze, looking around, but no one was there.

The air vibrated.

A blue glow appeared out of nowhere, growing until it surrounded his entire body. It wasn't just light — it was pure energy, pulsing as if time itself were breathing.

For a moment, his feet lifted from the ground.

The world collapsed around him.

And then, a voice echoed.

" Haru… you have been chosen."

The voice had no direction, yet it pierced directly into his mind.

Before he could react, he was pulled into an empty space where nothing existed except giant gears and floating clocks slowly turning in absolute silence.

Every tick echoed inside his chest, as if the universe itself were alive.

" Welcome to the Time Patrol."

Haru swallowed hard, unable to fully comprehend what he was seeing.

A hooded figure emerged before him.

Its eyes glowed like distant stars, and its presence was both intimidating and strangely comforting.

" Here, we monitor the timelines. We correct paradoxes. We protect existence."

"Why me?" Haru managed to ask, his voice trembling.

"Because you see the cracks in time. You feel what others cannot."

The figure paused.

"And more importantly… you do not fear the truth about the end."

Haru swallowed again.

He had never imagined himself as a hero or a protector of the world.

But one thing was clear.

His destiny had just changed forever.

The Trial of Time

The hooded figure raised a hand.

A portal opened in front of Haru.

Inside it, he saw his own city — but different.

Destroyed.

In ruins.

Buildings burned, streets flooded, and people ran in panic.

The sky was red and purple, stained with clouds filled with unknown energy.

" This is the future you must prevent… or at least understand."

Haru hesitated.

His heart pounded so violently it felt like it would burst from his chest.

Fear filled him.

But so did a strange determination.

He jumped into the portal.

The world exploded in colors and sounds.

He fell into chaos.

Visions invaded his mind.

Storms destroying cities.

Wars wiping out nations.

And then…

A pattern.

Something repeating.

Always.

Each disaster looked different, but the cycle was the same.

Total destruction.

Followed by a silent reset.

As if the world itself were trapped in a loop.

Haru dropped to his knees, gasping for breath as his mind struggled to process what he had seen.

The hooded figure approached him.

"You noticed it, didn't you?"

A cold shiver ran down Haru's spine.

"The world… always returns to zero. Always."

Something inside him changed.

The cycle of the end of the world had chosen an observer.

And that observer…

Was him. In the days that followed, Haru underwent intense training.

The Time Patrol did not accept ordinary recruits.

Every skill, every technique, was necessary to survive in unstable timelines.

He learned how to manipulate small temporal anomalies:

Creating short time loops to prevent accidents.

Repairing paradoxes that could destroy entire cities.

Observing alternate futures and choosing the best path without interfering with reality.

At first, everything seemed impossible.

Haru failed constantly.

While trying to correct a timeline where a bridge collapsed, he accidentally created a butterfly effect that caused buildings to fall in another city.

Every mistake hurt.

Every failure left emotional scars.

But he didn't give up.

During a test mission, Haru was sent to an alternate future where humanity had already disappeared.

The few survivors left were driven mad by distorted time, unable to distinguish past, present, and future.

For the first time, he felt the true weight of the responsibility carried by the Time Patrol.

"Time is not just a line. It is a living organism."

The voice came from his mentor.

A veteran from Alpha Squadron named Kael, whose gaze was serious and deep.

"And if you don't respect it… it will destroy you before it destroys the world."

Haru learned patience.

Observation.

And above all…

Respect for the inevitable cycle. After weeks of intense training, Haru finally felt ready.

He had mastered the manipulation of small anomalies.

He could detect paradoxes before they occurred.

He had learned how to fight temporal creatures that threatened the historical timelines.

But something still lingered in his mind.

The pattern he had seen during the first trial never left him.

Each apocalypse.

Each end of the world.

It all seemed inevitable.

He began to realize that perhaps the Time Patrol wasn't fighting to prevent the end…

But to prepare the world to restart in an orderly way.

The day of his official acceptance arrived.

Before the council of the Time Patrol, Haru received his uniform.

A light armor covered with symbols of gears and temporal runes.

And a blade made of condensed energy, capable of cutting through distortions in time.

"Welcome to Alpha Squadron, Haru."

Kael handed him the weapon.

"Here you will learn something important."

"We cannot control everything."

"But we can protect what is essential to existence."

Haru put on the armor.

He felt the weight of responsibility.

And at the same time…

The freedom of finally belonging to something greater.

He was ready to face the impossible.

To witness the end of worlds.

And maybe, one day…

To discover whether the cycle could be broken.

And so began his journey.

Not just as a knight of time.

But as someone destined to witness and understand the very flow of existence—

Carrying memories and truths that no one else could ever comprehend.
