Months later the farmer received a phone call.
It was Chipo.
Her voice was weak.
"There is drought in our village. We have no food."
The farmer had already hired another shepherd.
But kindness still lived in his heart.
He sent them K500 to help them survive.
After that, he never heard from them again.
Back on the farm, life returned to normal.
Yet Mr. Sikalima often remembered the lesson.
Among the Tonga people there is a final proverb:
"When you open your gate to strangers, open your eyes as well."
And so the farm continued under the quiet African sky, carrying its stories like footprints in the dust.
