Chapter 2 — Banishment and the Open Sea

The gates of the kingdom loomed before him, massive and cold. Beyond them stretched the world he had always known—the only life he had ever lived. And now, it belonged to everyone except him.

Kael Draven, once the pride of the kingdom, now walked alone. No guards flanked him. No ministers watched him. Even the maids who had once smiled at him had vanished behind the walls, their expressions carefully hidden. He had nothing left.

The whispers followed him even here. Disgraced prince… useless… cast aside…

He shook his head. He would not let them see his despair. Not now. Not ever.

He walked for days, moving away from the kingdom into the countryside. The Pinnacle Sovereign System had already begun giving him guidance, its quiet voice threading through his mind:

[Kael Draven. You must survive. You must grow. Find a place where you can start anew.]

He did not understand fully what it meant, but instinct told him to go far, far away. Somewhere no one knew him. Somewhere he could forge his own path without the weight of shame.

The journey to the coast was long. The roads were dusty, and towns looked the same as they had always done. But the stares were different. People whispered behind him, but Kael paid no mind. He was learning a lesson more powerful than any cultivation scroll or rare herb: the world does not care for weakness.

At the port, he looked out at the vast sea. Ships of all sizes rocked in the waves, sails flapping like restless spirits. Beyond that, the horizon stretched endlessly.

"Far away…" he murmured. "Somewhere… no one knows me. Somewhere I can be more than a worthless prince."

[Travel abroad to find opportunity and resources.]

The System's voice guided him again. Kael realized that even though he had been stripped of everything, he now had a tool that could let him build something greater than a kingdom, something that could surpass all expectations.

The captain of the merchant ship raised an eyebrow at the lone figure approaching. Kael approached cautiously, trying not to appear weak.

"I need passage… to anywhere across the sea," Kael said. His voice was calm but firm.

The captain studied him. There was nothing noble about his appearance. His clothes were modest, his posture weary, and his eyes… empty.

"How will you pay?" the captain asked.

Kael closed his eyes for a moment. He had no money. No resources. Nothing but himself and the faint stirring of the Pinnacle Sovereign System.

[Kael Draven. Your first reward is your resource: determination. You may barter your skills.]

Kael opened his eyes, feeling a flicker of confidence.

"I will work aboard your ship," he said. "I can do anything you need. I only need passage across the sea."

The captain laughed softly. "A prince? Hah. Fine. If you survive the voyage, you'll earn your keep."

The ship set sail at dawn. The kingdom vanished behind him, its walls and towers swallowed by distance. Kael stood at the bow, wind tearing through his hair, the endless horizon stretching before him.

The shame, the ridicule, the humiliation—it was all behind him now.

All that mattered was the path ahead.

The Pinnacle Sovereign System hummed softly in his mind.

[Kael Draven. Your journey begins. The world is vast. Survival is your first cultivation. Learn, grow, and rise.]

For the first time in his life, Kael felt the weight of freedom. It was terrifying. It was exhilarating. And it was beautiful.

The fallen prince was gone.

The Chaos Sovereign in the making had taken his first step.

And the world—vast, dangerous, and full of opportunity—was waiting.
