The rain was pouring heavily that night. Emma stood outside the hospital, her hands shaking while holding the medical bill.
"Five thousand dollars…" she whispered.
She had no idea how she would pay for it. Her mother was inside the hospital fighting for her life, and Emma had already sold almost everything she owned.
Suddenly, a black luxury car stopped in front of her.
The door slowly opened, and a tall, handsome man stepped out. His sharp eyes and cold expression made him look powerful and distant.
Emma had never seen him before, yet something about him felt intimidating.
The man walked toward her.
"Emma Carter?" he asked in a deep voice.
Emma was surprised. "Yes… but how do you know my name?"
Instead of answering, he handed her a card.
"I have a deal for you."
Emma frowned. "What kind of deal?"
The man looked directly into her eyes.
"Marry me."

"What?!"
"It's just a contract marriage," he said calmly. "One year. In return, I will pay all your mother's medical bills."
Emma couldn't believe what she was hearing.
