The Power of True Friendship

In a small village surrounded by green fields and a quiet river, two boys named Rahim and Karim grew up together. From a very young age, they were best friends. They went to school together, played football in the open field every afternoon, and sometimes went fishing by the river. Everyone in the village used to say that Rahim and Karim were like two sides of the same coin.

Rahim was a hardworking boy. He loved studying and always dreamed of becoming someone important in the future. He believed that education could change his life and help his family. Karim, on the other hand, was a cheerful and playful boy. He loved adventures and spending time with friends. Even though he was not very serious about studies, he had a very kind heart and always helped people in trouble.

One day, a new teacher came to their school. His name was Mr. Aziz. He was strict but very wise. On his first day in class, he told the students something important.

"Success comes to those who work hard and never give up," he said.

Rahim listened carefully to every word. That day he promised himself that he would work even harder. Karim heard the words too, but he did not take them very seriously.

As time passed, Rahim spent more time studying. Every evening he sat with his books while Karim often went outside to play. Slowly, the difference between them started to grow.

Finally, the day of the school examination results arrived. All the students were excited and nervous. When the teacher announced the results, everyone was surprised.

Rahim had stood first in the entire school.

The teachers praised him and the villagers congratulated him. His parents were very proud. But Karim did not do well in the exam. He felt embarrassed and sad. Deep inside, he thought Rahim might not want to be his friend anymore.

For a few days, Karim avoided Rahim. He stayed quiet and spent most of his time alone.

But Rahim noticed this. One afternoon he went to Karim's house and called him outside. Karim slowly came out, looking down at the ground.

Rahim smiled and said, "Why are you avoiding me? You are my best friend."

Karim replied softly, "You are the best student now. I failed. I thought you would not want to be my friend anymore."

Rahim laughed and put his hand on Karim's shoulder.

"Friendship is not about marks or success," he said. "A true friend stays beside you in every situation."

Karim felt tears in his eyes. At that moment he realized how lucky he was to have such a friend.

From that day on, Karim decided to change himself. He started studying regularly, and Rahim helped him every evening. They studied together, encouraged each other, and slowly Karim improved.

Years passed. The two boys grew up and followed their dreams. Rahim became a respected teacher, inspiring many students just like Mr. Aziz once inspired him. Karim became a doctor and helped the people of his village.

The villagers were proud of them. People often told their children the story of Rahim and Karim, saying,

"True friendship can guide you to success."

And Rahim and Karim never forgot one important lesson in life:

A real friend is someone who stands beside you, not only in happy times but also during the hardest moments.
