~Ethan's POV
I left Aria's place when the sky was already turning dark, that slow, deepening blue that always pretends everything is peaceful, even when it is not. The kind of evening that makes you believe you are fine, right until you are alone with your thoughts. Her door closed behind me with a sound so soft it felt deliberate, like the house itself was trying not to disturb what had just happened. I stood there longer than I should have, staring at the wooden door, my hand still hovering in the space where hers had been, as if my body had not yet accepted that the moment was over.
It felt wrong. No, that was not quite it. It felt dangerous.
