World Setup

In the 27th century, the world is ruled by Kingdoms. Their power is measured by a single metric: Resonance.

Every human is born with a Resonance Core, a metaphysical reactor in the soul. At birth, it imprints a Karma Mark on the left palm, a genetic lottery slip that dictates your life's ceiling. From that moment, your personal journey is measured by your Resonance Level (R-Level), a scale from 1 to 99.

BLACK MARK: Resonance Cap -R-50. The labor class. The soldiers. 65% of the population.

BLUE MARK: Resonance Cap -R-70. The skilled tier. Technicians, officers, specialists. About 25%.

GOLD MARK: Resonance Cap -R-99. The ruling class. The nobility. Less than 10%.

The Resonance Level (R-Level) is earned through surviving brutal training, mastering complex Arts, defeating rivals, and absorbing refined energy from crystals and vanquished foes.

It also governs the strength of your Resonance Arts—the three foundational disciplines known as The Trinity or The Three A's:

ARCANUM — Internal Dominion. Forge your body into a weapon.

ARTIFICE — External Synthesis. Summon and command bound tools.

APOTHECARY ARTS — Energetic Manipulation. Shape fire, force, and fate.

Thus, the Kingdoms pour unimaginable resources into their Academies; gladiatorial universities where the cold war turns hot in sanctioned duels, ruthless training, and covert missions. Graduation means deployment into the silent, endless struggle for dominance.

THE ACADEMIES

Each kingdom maintains a network of these gladiatorial universities—a minimum of two, a maximum of six—where the marked youth are weaponized for the silent war.

Our story begins in Osseria, a kingdom of intellect and artifice with four academies:

The Ignium Caldera — Open admissions. Produces loyal officers and specialists. Discipline is the great equalizer.

The Umbra Seat — Intelligence and counter-espionage. A strategic path for those without highborn connections; a coveted gateway for ambitious Black Marks.

The Osserian Crucible — Technological innovation. Accepts proven genius regardless of blood, but Black Marks must come from decorated military houses.

The Palladium — The apex. The antechamber to power. Admission is birthright for the top-tier noble houses. Curriculum focuses on the arts of rulership: high strategy, political Artifice, and command.

Once, in a move of political theater meant to quiet dissent, the Palladium passed a new statute: The Annual Equity Clause; three slots reserved for Black Marks with "exceptional theoretical aptitude." A symbol that the highest doors could, theoretically, swing open for anyone.

The price paid by those who claimed those slots is not recorded.

Some sold their voices.

Some surrendered their shadows.

One simply never learned to flinch.

And somewhere in the Palladium's polished halls, a young man with red hair is still trying to breathe air that was never meant for him.
