Chapter 110: A Quest? The Far North of Floor 30? A Baron's Fiefdom?

.....

"Not a bad harvest. Let's split up for now,"

Seito proposed.

Sticking with Maple at this point wouldn't serve much purpose; they might as well handle their own business.

"No objections here."

"Let's go clear some quests."

The group agreed and went their separate ways. Seito didn't follow the Blank siblings this time, they seemed to have picked up a specific chain they wanted to clear—so he headed back to the safe zone with Kanade Tachibana.

As for the others: Sally and Maple took Shoko to continue the pet hunt. Amou and Ako took Secretary Fujiwara back to Floor 21.

Seito and Kanade soared through the sky, quickly arriving at the safe zone. In a massive hub like this, there were plenty of Level 100 NPCs, most of whom carried quests. Seito began scanning the area for a suitable target for the two of them.

Soon, he found his mark.

"Kanade, let's go talk to that 'Down-and-Out Doctor' to pick up a quest." Seito pointed toward a man in a white lab coat that was ragged and torn beyond belief.

"Okay~" Kanade replied softly.

This NPC was Level 100 and had a very distinct look, with a large question mark hovering over his head—clearly a special quest-giver! Seito led Kanade over to him.

[Dr. Kant]

Level: 100

Dr. Kant was a middle-aged man with greasy, long hair that looked like it hadn't been trimmed in ages. He was covered in dust, and his hands were thick with calluses. As they approached, he instinctively stopped in his tracks.

"Adventurers... do you have business with me?" Dr. Kant's voice was low and heavy with exhaustion, giving off a somewhat unsettling vibe.

"Hello, Doctor," Seito said politely. "Is there anything the two of us can do to help you?"

"Help me?" Dr. Kant froze, and then his eyes suddenly welled up with tears. "I actually... do have something I need help with."

Seito and Kanade exchanged a look, unsure why he was crying, but they listened patiently as he told his story. Ten minutes later, they were silent.

It turned out Dr. Kant wasn't a native of Floor 25. He was the son of a border noble from Floor 30. Due to the King's paranoia, his family was abandoned by the Empire. Subsequently, a rival noble from a neighboring nation coveted their land, slaughtered his entire family, and seized their territory. Dr. Kant had been smuggled to Floor 25 by loyal servants, where he began researching pets. He hoped to raise an army of creatures to kill his enemies.

But it was a pipe dream; he couldn't afford to raise that many pets.

The quest description caught Seito's attention—specifically the words "Remote Border." This was practically a silver platter delivering a territory for him to seize! Of course, seizing land would draw the ire of the surrounding empires, so he had to plan carefully. He was definitely taking the land, but he needed a way to do it without immediately triggering an all-out war with the superpowers.

"We'll take the quest," Seito responded after a moment's thought.

"Really?!" Dr. Kant stared at him. Seeing that Seito wasn't joking, he issued the quest immediately.

[Ding! Dr. Kant has issued a quest to you.]

Description: Floor 30 is home to countless empires. In the remote Far North, there was once a kind noble. During a banquet, he offended the King of the Gamma Empire. Simultaneously, a Baron from the rival Storm Empire targeted his fiefdom and launched a war. Ultimately, only the noble's son escaped.

Requirement: Slay the Baron of the Storm Empire!

Participants: No limit.

Reward: Dr. Kant's Mysterious Pet Egg.

"This reward!" Seito's eyes were glued to the description. A pet egg from a Level 100 NPC wouldn't be anything less than spectacular.

Checking the coordinates, Seito said, "Doctor, we'll be heading out now."

"Very well. I hope you can fulfill my wish." Dr. Kant smiled, revealing a row of yellowed teeth, but his joy was genuine.

With that, Seito and Kanade teleported away.

Floor 30: Gamma Empire Safe Zone.

Floor 30 was unique because the safe zones were scattered across the capital cities of various warring empires. Seito and Kanade arrived and quickly moved away from the main city into a secluded forest. Seito opened the guild chat.

[Sei: @All Members. Assemble on Floor 30! Coordinates attached.]

Upon seeing this sudden message, the players immediately sprang into action. An hour later, 100,000 players had gathered in the wilderness of Floor 30, with all the Executives standing beside Seito.

Seito scanned the crowd with a serious expression. "Kanade and I just picked up a quest. The territory involved is perfect for our development. It's in the remote Far North, so once we take it, we won't have to worry about immediate retaliation from the Storm Empire."

"So, in a moment, we are going to invade this fiefdom!"

He dropped the target coordinates into the chat. The guild members erupted in excitement. Invading a territory! And the target was a noble—the loot had to be legendary!

"Seito-kun, let's head out then!" Maple said with an excited smile. A territorial conquest sounded like a blast!

"Yeah." Seito nodded, his arm sweeping out as his Executive overcoat billowed behind him.

"Move out!"

With the Executives leading the charge, the massive army began their full-speed march toward the Far North!
