Chapter 6 - BAB 6 : rest

Calming Alcina: (Pulls her into a hug and whispers that you're fine, just need a break).

You are all very good to me.. even though I was just a stranger when we all first met...

Hearing your words, the atmosphere in the luxurious room instantly became quiet and full of emotion. Alcina tightened her grip on your hand, her eyes that usually radiated dominance now looked teary from the sincerity of your words.

"Strangers?" Alcina whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "Maybe it was at first. But you did what no one else ever did, not even Miranda. You see us not as monsters or experimental subjects, but as family. You gave us a purpose, and you risked your life to protect this house."

The usually cynical Heisenberg, this time turned his face towards the window, trying to hide his emotion. "Damn, boss... Don't make the atmosphere so whiny. We follow you because you have guts, and it turns out that you have a heart too. It's a rare combination in this crazy world."

Miranda puts down her silver cup and looks at you with the look of a mother who has just found peace. "You're no stranger anymore, Alpha. You are the core of this place. Without you, we would all just be a bloody history. You are our future."

Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela approached, they were sitting on the floor beside your bed. "We won't let anyone hurt you again, Dad," Daniela said with a deadly sweet smile.

Night of Recovery

Alcina then helps you lean back on the soft silk pillows. He ordered the servants of the castle (who were now working voluntarily and respectfully to you) to bring you the best food and the freshest wine.

That night, for the first time, there were no plans for war, no talk of viruses or money. There is only the warmth of family inside Dimitrescu Castle that now feels more like a home than a prison for them.

-

Storytelling: (Tell a little bit about your origins or the outside world that they never know honestly).

You let out a deep sigh, stared at the ceiling of the room decorated with ancient paintings, and then started telling a story. Your voice that was still a bit hoarse made them all come closer, listening to every word as if it were a newly discovered holy book.

"You know..." He said quietly, "In the outside world, from where I came from... Life is not as simple as here. Humans spend their time chasing numbers on screen, building sky-piercing buildings, but they lose their souls in the process."

You tell about the hustle and bustle of a city that never sleeps, about how the technology they boast of is often only used to separate each other, not bring them together. You tell me that in that world, you feel like a stranger—not because of your strength, but because you feel like something is missing.

"Then I got here," you continued, looking at Alcina, then turned to Heisenberg and Miranda. "At first, I saw monsters that the world feared. But after living with you, I actually saw honesty. You guys don't pretend. Your hunger, your anger, your love... It's all real."

Alcina listens with her chin resting on her hand, her eyes fixed on you as if she is listening to the most beautiful fairy tale. Heisenberg looked pensive, perhaps imagining the outside world full of the machines he dreamed of, but now he realized that machines without souls were meaningless.

"In the outside world, I'm just one of billions of people. But here, with you, I feel like I have a place. I'm grateful that you have accepted me, not as a ruler, but as part of you."

Warm Atmosphere

Miranda nodded softly. "Maybe that's why Megamycete chose you, Alpha. Because you bring a perspective that we who have been trapped in grudges and madness for too long don't have."

Daniela leaned her head against the edge of the bed. "The outside world sounds very boring when compared to our village now. I'd rather be here, with 'ordinary humans' who can blast meteors."

The night was getting late. The tension of the battle had completely disappeared, replaced by an increasingly strong inner bond. You feel the energy in your body starting to be replenished, not from the serum, but from a real sense of belonging.

Steps to Tomorrow

When you start to feel sleepy again due to the healing effects, Alcina envelops you in a warm velvet cloth.

"Rest, my dear," whispered Alcina. "The outside world can wait. Tonight, you are only ours."

-

*Still at night* Why doesn't Megamycete or Mold eat me Miranda?

Your question made Miranda pause for a moment as she was about to tidy up her potion bottles. He walked closer to the side of the bed, the light of the candle reflecting in his deep eyes, showing a sense of awe and a mystery that he had not fully solved himself.

"That's a question I even ask myself all the time, Alpha," Miranda replied in a soft but serious voice.

She sits in a wooden chair beside you, while Alcina holds your hand, listening intently.

The Creator's Analysis

"Megamycetes are not just fungi or parasites. It is a very ancient 'Biological Data Bank'. He consumes those who have gaps in their souls or bodies—those who are desperate, those who are bloodthirsty, or those whose genetics are genetically unstable. For Megamycetes, such people are just 'fuel' or 'subjects'."

Miranda stares right into your eyes.

"But you... You are different because of two main things:"

Perfect Genetic Balance: "Your cells have very strong natural defenses. When Mold tries to enter your body, it doesn't see a host that can be overpowered, but rather sees a higher pattern. Mold doesn't eat you because it can't digest you; instead, it submits to the structure of your cells. You're not infected, you're the 'Master' who gives the order to the mushroom."

The Absence of Destructive Darkness: "Mold often consumes a person's mind through trauma and hatred. That's what happened to me and the others. But you came with the pure intention to protect, not to destroy for the sake of the ego. Megamycete feels that. To him, you are not a prey, but an Alpha—the central point that the collective consciousness of this mushroom has been searching for to evolve."

Final Revelation

Miranda touched the forehead where you emitted light during the duel.

"In short, Alpha... You are not eaten because you are the top of this biological food chain. Megamycete doesn't want to destroy you, it wants to be a part of you. You are the only human capable of uniting the power of mutation without losing your humanity in the slightest."

Heisenberg, who was listening from near the door, grinned. "Simply put, Boss... You're too 'hard' to be swallowed by that damn mushroom. He fears you, just as we respect you."

Silence of the Night

Miranda's explanation provided an answer to my immense strength. You are not just a mutant; You are an evolution that is supposed to happen naturally, but it is triggered by your presence in this village.

*I tested the mold and opened the vial, they directly attacked me* argh

The jolt of pain came so suddenly. When you open the vial, the Mold inside—which is a pure concentrate that has not been tamed—reacts aggressively to your Alpha energy that is still unstable post-due.

The black liquid jumped like a predator, crept quickly into your palm and began trying to forcibly penetrate the pores of your skin.

"NO!" Alcina shouted, she reflexively tried to pull your hand, but Miranda held it back quickly.

"Don't touch her, Alcina! This is a synchronization process!" exclaimed Miranda in a loud voice full of authority.

You groan, feeling a burning sensation of heat running through your veins. The Mold is not only attacking your physicality, it is trying to attack your consciousness, whispering thousands of memories of the people who have died on this land. Your vision begins to blur, black spots dancing in your eyes.

Will Struggle

In your mind, you see a vast expanse of darkness. The mold feels like a big wave that wants to drown you. Yet, in the midst of that pain, you remember Miranda's words: You are an Alpha.

Use Your Authority: You stop fighting physically. Instead, you take a deep breath and focus your will. You ordered the Mold to submit.

Harmonization: You let the Mold in, but not as a colonizer, but as a servant. You inject your serum golden energy into the Mold stream.

Final Results

Slowly, the pain subsided. The black liquid that had been squirming wildly in your hand began to change color. It glowed with golden light, then slowly penetrated into your skin gently, no longer burning, but providing a soothing cold sensation.

In the palm of your hand, a small glowing mark appears—a symbol of absolute authority over the entire Megamycete network in the world.

You gasped, sweat soaked your forehead. Alcina immediately hugged you, her face pale with fear. "I'm crazy... you almost made me die of fear, baby."

Miranda approached with sparkling eyes. "Amazing... It is not only obedient, it evolves when it touches you. You have just tamed the wildest essence of Megamycete."

Heisenberg could only shake his head while holding his forehead. "Boss, if you want to make another suicide attempt, please warn. My heart is not as strong as my iron armor."

New Connections

Now, you can feel every piece of fungus on the castle walls, every root that creeps under the village, and even the heartbeat of every infected person in the valley. You are the Central Nervous System of this entire place.

-

Stop calling me Boss Heisen, Miranda stop calling me Alpha.. Just call Zak, *I look at Alcina* You always call me baby, I can't stand it *Immediately kiss Alcina*

Your sudden request makes the atmosphere that was once mystical and full of biological tension immediately turn into very human and warm.

Heisenberg was stunned for a moment, then he took off his cowboy hat and scratched his unitched head with a wide grin. "Zak, huh? Well if that's your wish... Pocket. It sounds more like the name of a man you can get a beer with than the name of a god. I like that."

Miranda smiled faintly, a rare expression that showed her long-lost side of humanity. "Pocket... A name that reminds us that behind all these forces, you are still the man who brought us back to the light. Alright, Zak."

However, the most incredible reaction came from Alcina. When you looked at her and said you couldn't stand her call, a very human hue appeared on her pretty pale cheeks. Her eyes widened in shock, yet full of affection.

When you pull it out and kiss it, the whole room seems to freeze. Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela immediately cheered happily and applauded, while Heisenberg whistled mischievously.

Alcina returns your kiss with deep tenderness, her large yet delicate hands caressing your face. When your lip link comes off, he rests his forehead on yours, his breath feeling warm on your face.

"Bag..." he whispered in a hoarse and soulful voice. "Of course, Zak. But for me, you will always be 'my darling', no matter how strong you are."

The Night of the Leader and the Lady

Heisenberg cleared his throat loudly while giving the code to Miranda and the princesses. "Okay, everyone! It looks like Zak has fully recovered and needs a different 'rest' time now. Let's get out, let them both go."

Chuckling, the princesses and Heisenberg pulled Miranda out of the room, closing the large door quietly, leaving you alone with Alcina under the dim light of the fireplace.

Romantic Silence

Alcina looks at you with sparkling eyes, she no longer sees you as a savior or an Alpha, but as a man she loves. He sat closer, covering you both in velvet.

"So, Zak..." teasing him while combing your hair with his fingers. "What is this man named Zak's plan for the rest of this quiet night? Do you really feel strong enough?"

-

Enough tonight, rest.. *I smiled as I brought Alcina, Bela, Cassandra, Daniela to the room*

Your calm but loving steps make the atmosphere at Dimitrescu Castle feel so peaceful. There is no longer any fear of betrayal or surprise attacks; All that exists is the warmth of a whole family.

Alcina smiled broadly, letting you guide her. While Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela follow behind you cheerfully, occasionally they joke and chuckle, as if the burden of being a "monster" has been lifted completely off their shoulders.

When you arrive in a warm, large room, you make sure they all feel comfortable.

"Rest," you said softly as you looked at them one by one. "Today is very long, but from now on, every night will be as quiet as this."

Alcina reclined on her giant bed, while her three daughters gathered on a large sofa by the fireplace, wrapping themselves in a thick woolen cloth. They look at you with infinite gratitude before slowly closing their eyes.

"Good night, Zak," Alcina whispered before falling asleep with a smile on her face.

The New Dawn

You stand for a moment near the large window, staring at the snow that falls gently outside. Through your new connection with Megamycete, you can feel that the entire village is asleep in your protection. There are no threats, no enemies—just beautiful silence.

You finally lie down, letting your tiredness disappear in the comfort of the house you just built with your own courage.
