Chapter 213 - NFN [213]

Hidan felt it was somewhat baffling:

"What intelligence? It can't be said in front of everyone?"

"Only you can hear it."

Gento, disguised as Nanashi, said.

Kakuzu waved his hand indifferently upon hearing this:

"Go ahead, just don't take too long."

He had little interest in this colleague who had defected from the Uchiha, nor was he worried about his partner Hidan's safety.

That guy was immortal; who could kill him?

Hidan thus followed Gento carelessly, still muttering:

"Anyway, I am immortal. Even if you, kid, harbor ill intentions, you can't do anything to me!"

Gento smiled upon hearing this, then placed his hand on Hidan's shoulder and activated the Flying Thunder God.

Space shifted.

The next instant, Hidan found himself standing in a spacious study.

He curiously sized up the surroundings, feeling as though he had seen this decor somewhere before.

Thus, he immediately said to Gento:

"Where is this place? Why does it feel so familiar?"

Gento did not answer Hidan's question, but instead first retrieved Fu's corpse from the Yomotsu space.

Immediately following that, he took out another card glowing with golden light.

It was precisely the [Reanimation] card previously rewarded by the system.

As the Seven-Tails Jinchuriki, her aptitude absolutely met the system's determination criteria.

Moreover, it was at least A-rank.

Gento naturally would not let such a woman go.

He squatted down, placing the card on Fu's forehead.

Chakra was channeled in, and the card turned into specks of golden light, merging into the young girl's body.

A wave of soul fluctuations came from the void.

As if something was recalled from a distant place, slowly infusing into Fu's physical shell.

The system notification sound instantly rang out in Gento's mind:

[Ding! Excellent kunoichi detected.]

[Name: Fu]

[Overall Evaluation: A-rank]

The young girl's eyelashes trembled gently.

A moment later, she opened her eyes.

"Ugh..."

Fu let out a soft groan, standing up groggily and stretching.

Her movements carried a girl's laziness and innocence, as if she had merely slept rather than just returned from death.

Gento carefully sized up the young girl in front of him.

She wore the dark shinobi attire of the Hidden Waterfall Village, the top tight-fitting, outlining her slender waist and beginning-to-take-shape curves.

The lower hem was a short skirt, revealing a section of long, wheat-colored legs.

Her light blue long hair was draped over her shoulders, making that small face appear all the more pure and lovely.

Right then, Fu was looking at her own hands in confusion.

She clenched her fists, blinked again, and after confirming it wasn't an illusion, she spoke:

"Eh? Didn't I already die? How am I alive again?"

Beside her, Hidan saw this scene, his mouth stretching into an O-shape, his eyes staring round.

He pointed at Fu, saying in a shocked face:

"What? Nanashi, you just resurrected a dead person?!"

And it was no wonder he was shocked.

Although he was immortal, that was merely "immortality," not "resurrection."

Summoning the deceased back from the underworld, he had only heard of such legendary ninjutsu in rumors, never having witnessed it with his own eyes.

Now that this miracle-like method had suddenly appeared before his eyes, how could he not be astonished?

Hearing the sound, Fu turned her head. When she saw Hidan's familiar face, her pupils contracted suddenly.

She let out a scream, jumping up abruptly and hiding behind Gento, her voice trembling:

"You... you are that bad guy who captured me!"

Of course she remembered him.

It was this silver-gray-haired man, along with that old fellow wrapped in bandages, who had captured her from the border of the Hidden Waterfall Village, sent her to that terrifying underground cave, and extracted the Tailed Beast from her body, causing her death!

Gento immediately comforted her:

"Rest assured, he won't make a move on you."

"As for your resurrection... naturally, I resurrected you using a Forbidden Jutsu."

Fu looked at Gento skeptically, then at Hidan.

Seeing that Hidan indeed had no intention of making a move, she finally let out a sigh of relief, poking her head out from behind Gento and giving him a sweet smile:

"You are a good person! Thank you for reviving me!"

"After all, my dream hasn't been realized yet, I can't die!"

"What dream?"

Gento asked casually.

"I want to make friends with the whole world!"

Fu clenched her fists, light shining in her eyes.

It was a pure innocence that had not been obliterated by war and death.

Gento smiled, not dampening her enthusiasm, but simply saying:

"The shinobi world of today is very dangerous, with wars being fought everywhere. For now, do not return to the Hidden Waterfall Village; just stay here with me."

"My palace is very safe; no one can hurt you."

Hearing this, Fu thought of her own ordeal, nodding with lingering fear.

She hesitated for a moment, raising her head and asking cautiously:

"Here... can I make friends?"

Gento smiled and nodded:

"Of course, it's very lively here. With your personality, you'll make new friends pretty fast."

Fu's eyes brightened at once as she jumped three feet high in joy, cheering:

"Great! I knew there were still good people in this world!"

Gento withdrew his gaze and called out the door:

"Mabui."

The door was pushed open immediately.

Mabui walked in.

"Arrange a room for Miss Fu."

Gento instructed.

"In addition, satisfy whatever needs she has."

Mabui nodded, turned to Fu, and bowed slightly:

"Miss Fu, please follow me."

Fu followed Mabui out of the study, bouncing and skipping happily.

As she reached the door, she even turned back to wave at Gento.

Subsequently, only Gento and Hidan were left in the study.

Hidan stared at Gento's back, feeling that something was off.

He scratched his head, but still unable to resist his curiosity, he leaned forward and asked:

"Hey, Nanashi, what kind of ninjutsu is this that can resurrect people? Can you teach me?"

"Also, why did you resurrect a Jinchuriki who lost her Tailed Beast?"

"She doesn't have a Tailed Beast in her body anymore, why resurrect her?"

Gento did not answer.

With his back facing Hidan, he slowly raised his hand, releasing the disguise technique.

The black cloak with red clouds of the Akatsuki was also changed to the dark-colored regular clan head attire.

A small pink gourd also appeared at his waist.

He turned around, a smile curling at the corners of his lips.

Hidan's eyes instantly widened.

Seeing Gento's face, he finally remembered why this place felt so familiar.

Wasn't this precisely Gento Uchiha's study!

"Na... Nanashi... don't scare me..."

Hidan's voice began trembling.

He subconsciously took a few steps back, stumbling against the wall.

"Why did you transform into the appearance of Gento Uchiha?"

"Hurry up and change back!"

"This joke isn't funny at all!"
