Chapter 9: The School of the Sovereign

The hallways of the Tamer Academy had changed. The constant "pinging" of student handbooks and the glowing blue AR-overlays of the old Alliance system were gone, replaced by a focused, studious calm. In the center of this transformation was Leo Heart.

While the System's interface had returned to its dormant stone form, the energy it once channeled hadn't vanished—it had metabolized. The "Insight," the "Encyclopedia," and the "Link" had fused with Leo's own soul, birthing a new set of innate abilities that didn't require a screen to function.

The Eye of Truth

During a morning sparring session in the Great Hall, Leo stood opposite a group of upperclassmen. He didn't reach for a device. Instead, his violet eyes shifted, a golden geometric pattern manifesting deep within his pupils.

This was the Eye of Truth.

As he looked at his opponents, the world slowed down. He didn't just see their movements; he saw the Mana-Circulation inside their bodies. He saw the structural weaknesses in their beasts' armor and the exact millisecond their elemental cores would recharge.

"Your Magma-Hound has a hairline fracture in its left hind-leg's mana-valve," Leo said calmly, sidestepping a burst of fire without looking. "If you push it to 'Burst Mode' now, the core will backfire."

The student stopped, eyes wide. "How... how did you know? I haven't even told my own Tamer-Log yet!"

"The log is a history book," Leo replied. "The Eye sees the present."

The Memory Mirror: The Living Library

In the Academy Library, Leo sat with Samuel and a reformed, quiet Marcus Vance. Leo placed the Dormant Stone on the table, and it began to glow.

Because the System's data had merged with Leo, he could now project the Memory Mirror. It was no longer just a list of facts; it was a 3D, interactive synthesis of every guide, every rare beast entry, and every historical legend ever recorded.

"Look here, Marcus," Leo said, waving his hand. A holographic projection of a Lightning Hawk appeared—Marcus's former pet. "The 'Fusion' the Cult used on your bird wasn't just mechanical. It was a parasitic drain. If we use the Lunar-Dew method from the 4th Era, we can actually regrow its natural feathers and purge the void-metal."

Marcus stared at the projection. "You're sharing this? This is Master-level research, Leo. People would kill for this encyclopedia."

"Knowledge isn't a weapon to be hoarded," Leo said firmly. "It's a map. If we want to survive the Outer Lands, everyone needs to know how to heal their partners."

The Sovereign's Link: The Harmonic Boost

The most terrifying power, however, was the Link.

During the afternoon training on the Academy field, Leo demonstrated the "Sovereign's Resonance." He stood in the center of a circle of students and their pets—ranging from Sam's Earth-Dragon King to common Wind-Sparrows.

Leo closed his eyes and expanded his aura. He didn't just command them; he linked his soul to every beast in the vicinity.

Suddenly, the Wind-Sparrows' wings began to glow with violet starlight. Their speed tripled. Samuel's Toro felt his obsidian hide harden into indestructible diamond-glass.

"The Link doesn't just add power," Leo explained to the gasping students. "It enhances the potential already inside them. I am acting as a bridge between your heart and their core. As long as you trust your pet, the Link will never break."

The Training of the New Vanguard

For the rest of the term, Leo became a "Peer-Instructor." He taught classes on Soul-Breathing and Anatomical Mana-Tracing.

Samuel mastered the "Shield of the Vanguard," using the Link to share his own physical stamina with Toro, making the Dragon King an unstoppable wall.

Elena Frost learned to use the Eye of Truth (shared through Leo's Link) to find the "Heart of the Storm" in her Phoenix's ice-magic, allowing her to freeze time itself for a few seconds.

Marcus Vance began working on a new bond with a rescued Iron-Beak Falcon, using Leo's Memory Mirror to find a non-invasive, natural path of growth.

As the final exams approached, the Academy was no longer producing "Tamer-Soldiers." They were producing Sovereign-Partners.

"You've done more for this school in three months than the Alliance did in three centuries," Master Silas said, watching the students train from the balcony.

Leo looked at the Dormant Stone in his hand. It was pulsing faster now. The "Graduation" wasn't just a ceremony—it was the signal. The Star Map was fully revealed, pointing toward the Mist-Wall that separated the known world from the Outer Lands.

"The training is done, Master," Leo said, his Eye of Truth flickering with gold. "It's time to see what's on the other side of the map."
