Chapter 1: The Garbage of the Han Family

The rain was cold, but the blood on Chen Fan's face was warmer.

"Please... just one more day," Chen gasped, clutching the muddy shoes of the man standing over him. "My sister... she needs the medicine."

Kicking.

A polished leather boot slammed into Chen's chest. He skidded across the wet pavement, coughing up a mouthful of crimson.

"An orphan dog like you doesn't deserve medicine," Han Lei sneered, looking down with pure disgust. "You've lived in the Han family for ten years as a servant. Consider your death a final favor to us."

Han Lei turned to his bodyguards. "Finish it. Make it look like an accident."

The world blurred. Heavy fists rained down. Chen's ribs snapped like dry twigs. He was dragged to the edge of the bridge and tossed into the dark, swirling river below.

I'm sorry, Ling'er... I couldn't save you.

As the icy water filled his lungs, Chen's vision faded. His heart gave one last, desperate throb. Silence.

Suddenly, a golden spark ignited in the darkness of his mind.

Warmth. A violent surge of power exploded from his heart. The broken bones in his chest knitted back together instantly. His muscles tightened, surging with a strength he had never known.

Chen Fan didn't drown. He gripped a jagged rock at the riverbank and pulled himself up.

He stood in the pouring rain, his clothes tattered, but his aura was different. He looked at his hands. They were trembling, not with fear, but with raw, unbridled power.

Chen looked toward the Han Family estate. A cold, predatory smile touched his lips.

"The dog is dead," he whispered, his voice sounding like grinding metal. "The God has arrived."
