At the campfire, Launch took a big bite of a wild fruit, juice splashing as she sighed in bliss.
"This is so sweet! You two want some?"
Gohan: "…"
Piccolo: "…"
The two exchanged a look filled with mutual suffering. In the past few months, Gohan's timid personality had changed a lot—he no longer clung to Launch, and his eyes had gained a faint warrior's resolve.
Piccolo snorted, but there was approval hidden in his voice.
"At least you don't cry anymore. Good."
Launch grinned innocently.
"Uncle Piccolo, you're tough too! You took so many of my hits and still didn't fall!"
Piccolo: "…"
Gohan leaned in and whispered hopefully:
"Big brother Launch… you're already so strong. You don't need training anymore…"
Launch puffed out his chest proudly.
"I'm going to become the strongest in the universe!"
Gohan & Piccolo: "…"
Changing the Subject — Raditz
Gohan quickly shifted the topic.
"Where did my dad's brother go?"
He meant Raditz.
Launch tilted his head. "Who knows?"
Piccolo folded his arms.
Raditz was not the type to stay quiet.
"He might cause trouble somewhere else. We should check."
Gohan nodded eagerly.
Yes. Perfect. If Launch goes after Raditz, they finally get a break from getting beaten up daily.
Launch closed his eyes for a moment.
"I can feel him. He's far north… about eight thousand kilometers."
He rose into the air, glowing faintly silver.
"I'll go check on him. You two keep training. I'll come back."
Piccolo: Please take your time… or never come back.
Gohan: Come back soon… or maybe not too soon…
Launch shot off like a silver meteor.
As soon as he was gone, Piccolo immediately said:
"Pack up. We're moving."
Gohan blinked. "But how will he find us?"
Piccolo answered without missing a beat:
"Searching for us is training too."
Gohan: "…."
Meanwhile… Raditz
In a remote mountain village, Raditz was lounging in a chair, soaking in sunlight.
He had been training like mad—pushing himself near death repeatedly to gain power. But now his progress had stalled around 100,000 battle power.
With nearly two hundred days until Vegeta and Nappa arrived, Raditz had decided to… enjoy himself.
He picked a remote village to avoid detection.
He hadn't killed anyone — because Broly had warned him:
"Kill one person and I'll end you."
So he settled for bullying villagers into cooking and massaging him.
The villagers were miserable.
"We have no food left…" the old village chief said shakily.
Raditz snapped.
"Then go buy more!"
"We… have no money…"
Raditz cursed under his breath.
If only I had Broly's food-creating treasure…
He even considered sneaking to Kame House to steal it.
A Familiar Presence
Suddenly, a streak of light shot across the sky.
Raditz looked up sharply.
His heart jumped.
That… that's Launch.
The kid descended lightly and landed beside him.
Villagers went pale. Another flying monster!
Launch looked at Raditz.
"Uncle Raditz, what are you doing here?"
Raditz forced a calm smile.
"Enjoying life. These villagers cook for me."
Launch turned to the trembling elder.
"Has he killed anyone?"
The old man shook his head frantically.
Launch's expression hardened.
"If he had, I wouldn't forgive him."
The villagers stared in disbelief.
This kid looked four. What could he do?
Raditz quickly added:
"I didn't kill anyone. Just… roughed them up a bit when they tried to resist."
He was cautious now. Better to stay on this kid's good side.
After all, if Broly or Launch snapped, he'd be dead in seconds.
But inside, Raditz smirked.
I've reached 100,000 battle power… I can't possibly lose to a four-year-old… right?
He glanced at Launch again, pride rising.
I'll show this brat what a true Saiyan warrior is.
