Federal Headquarters - A few days later
I was seated at one of the computers as numbers scrolled across the screen before me.
Several computer screens were having the same numbers scrolling.
As dozens of financial records were scattered across the desk.
One screen was constant…
The one that was showing the balance of Charles Freeway's account.
The account in which Fredrick moved the last funds from Harmon Designs.
"Pull up the last transaction," I told the boy beside me.
"John," an official called me to come over.
"Look the money is being transferred in installments of ten thousand dollars,"
"That means Charles' company was never the destination."
"Maybe Fredrick knew Veronica was going to take over, so he got the funds out as much as he could?"
"Yes," I said. "And Charles was only a stop along the way."
I went back to my computer.
"Let's trace the money, maybe we can know where he is,"
I along with the team began to trace the money.
