It was mid-day and we were going through the financial records after I introduced the audit team to Veronica.
Having worked here before, made it easy as I knew the employees before and they already trusted me.
After reviewing we found out almost every company account was frozen pending reviews from the bank managers.
"Be it the transaction history,"
"Payrolls, supplier payments, and investment portfolios,"
"Don't overlook anything."
"Mr. Rollings, I apologize for the condition, but ever since Fredrick left, and Imelda opened a sister firm under the same tag, no one gave us any order and soon we all got work else where,"
"Looks like Fredrick took that as an opportunity to misappropriate the funds."
"Yes, Mr. Rollings," another finance staff member said. "Matter of fact, some files are altered, and some are incomplete."
"It's alright," I said. "None of you are at fault,"
