The forest seemed to hold its breath.
Every wolf in the pack stood completely still.
Even the Alpha.
The woman stepped forward.
The fog moved with her like it was alive.
Nora's heart was pounding violently.
She could barely breathe.
The woman stopped a few meters away.
Her golden eyes were full of sadness.
"Nora… my child."
Nora's legs trembled.
"But… you died."
The woman shook her head slowly.
"No."
"I had to disappear."
Daniel's expression darkened.
"You abandoned her."
The woman's eyes flashed with pain.
"I saved her."
The Alpha stepped forward slowly.
"You broke the ancient law."
The woman turned toward him calmly.
"And I would break it again."
Her voice was calm.
But powerful.
The wolves in the forest lowered their heads again.
The Alpha narrowed his eyes.
"You hid the Blood Moon heir from the pack."
The woman looked at Nora.
"I hid her from all of you."
Nora felt the ground spinning under her feet.
"What… is happening?"
The woman walked closer.
Then she placed her hand gently on Nora's face.
And whispered:
"You were never human."
