Chapter 1 - British University

Chapter 1:

The sky that morning was covered with gray clouds, as if it were hiding secrets no one was ready to discover. Isabelle walked slowly along the narrow stone street that led to the university. The cool air brushed gently against her face as she held her favorite book tightly in her hands.

Isabelle was a quiet girl who loved reading more than anything in the world. Her long brown hair moved softly with her steps, and her blue eyes were filled with curiosity and dreams. Since she was a child, she had always believed that life hid a special story for every person. But she never imagined that her own story would begin on that very day.

On the other side of the street, Isak stood next to his black motorcycle. He was tall, with dark eyes that seemed to hide many secrets. He was not someone who smiled often, but he had a strong presence that made people notice him wherever he went.

Isak was a new student at the university. He had arrived in the city only two days ago. He didn't know anyone here, and honestly, he wasn't interested in meeting anyone. To him, life was just a long road that needed to be crossed without stopping for too long.

But sometimes, one meeting is enough to change everything.

As Isabelle crossed the street, a sudden gust of wind blew several pages out of her book. The papers flew into the air like small birds searching for somewhere to land.

"Oh no…" Isabelle whispered as she hurried to catch them.

At that moment, Isak bent down and picked up one of the pages that had fallen near him. He looked at it for a moment, then raised his head toward the girl who was running toward him with a shy expression.

Isabelle stopped in front of him, slightly out of breath.

"Thank you… that page is mine," she said softly.

Isak slowly handed the paper back to her. For a brief moment, their eyes met. Isabelle felt something strange in her heart, as if time had stopped for just one second.

"It seems the wind doesn't like books," Isak said calmly.

Isabelle smiled gently.

"Or maybe it wants to read the story."

Isak wasn't used to answers like that. He looked at her with a small hint of surprise.

"Do all the books you read make people talk like that?"

Isabelle laughed lightly.

"Only the good ones."

For the first time in a long while, Isak felt the urge to continue talking to someone. He didn't know why, but this quiet girl seemed different from anyone he had met before.

"Are you a student here?" he asked.

She nodded.

"Yes. Third year in literature."

"I'm new here," Isak said.

A short silence fell between them, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It was the kind of silence filled with curiosity.

"Well… welcome to the university," Isabelle said.

She pointed to the large building behind her.

"If you're looking for the registration office, it's over there."

A faint smile appeared on Isak's face.

"Looks like I met the perfect tour guide."

Isabelle blushed slightly. She wasn't used to compliments.

Just then, the university bell rang, announcing the start of classes. Both of them looked toward the building.

"I should go… my class is starting," Isabelle said quickly.

Then she paused for a moment before adding,

"It was nice meeting you."

"You too," Isak replied.

Isabelle started walking away, but she could feel Isak's gaze following her. She didn't understand why, but her heart was beating faster than usual.

Isak remained standing there for a moment.

"Isabelle…" he whispered quietly to himself.British University

He didn't know why he remembered her name so quickly.

But something deep inside him told him this wasn't just a coincidence.

In the days that followed, Isabelle started noticing something strange.

At the library… Isak was there.

At the café near the university… he was sitting at the table next to hers.

And once, she even saw him in the small park behind the campus.

At first, she thought it was just coincidence. But as time passed, it started to feel like fate was playing a strange game.

One day, Isabelle was sitting in the library writing her notes when she heard a chair being pulled gently.

She looked up.

It was Isak.

"Is this seat taken?" he asked simply.

She shook her head.

"No."

He sat down and placed a book on the table. Isabelle looked at the cover with surprise.

"You're reading this book?"

"Yes," Isak answered.

Isabelle smiled.

"This is my favorite book."

"I know," Isak replied calmly.

Her eyebrows lifted in surprise.

"How?"

He pointed to the page he had returned to her on the day they met.

"It was from this book."

Isabelle laughed.

"So you remember."

"Some things are hard to forget," Isak said.

Isabelle didn't know what to say. There was something about the way he spoke that made her heart feel confused.

Trying to change the subject, she asked,

"Do you like reading?"

Isak thought for a moment before answering.

"I didn't… until now."

Isabelle smiled.

"Maybe you just hadn't found the right book yet."

Isak looked at her for a few seconds.

"Maybe."

Days passed, and the two of them started talking more often. Isabelle discovered that Isak wasn't as cold as he seemed. He carried a difficult past that made him distance himself from people.

And Isak discovered that Isabelle saw the world differently… in a beautiful way.

She saw hope in places where no one else could.

One evening, as the sun was setting behind the city buildings, the two of them sat on a wooden bench in the park.

"Do you believe in fate?" Isabelle asked while looking at the sky.

"What do you mean?" Isak asked.

"That some people meet because they were meant to meet."

Isak thought for a moment.

Then he looked at her and said,

"I didn't believe in that…"

Isabelle turned to look at him.

"…until I met you."

For a second, Isabelle felt as if her heart had stopped.

She didn't know that this small moment would become the beginning of a story that would change both of their lives forever.

Sometimes…

The most beautiful stories begin with a simple meeting on an ordinary day.

And neither of them knew that this meeting was only the beginning.
