Zone Five's entity had moved.
Kai surfaced from the morning check and sat back in the grass. The surveyed position from eight days ago — entity distributed vertically through the lowland shelf stone, organized at roughly thirty meters depth — was no longer accurate. The entity had shifted upward. Not much. Ten meters, maybe twelve. And it had concentrated. Where the previous survey had shown the entity spread across a wide vertical column, it was now denser and more central, as if it had been listening to Zone Four's conduit activity and had drawn itself together in response.
He waited for the system notification.
