Leon watched her retreating figure, the smile on his face gradually fading.
He walked to the living room and turned on the television.
The news channel was overwhelmingly reporting on the "global solar eclipse" event from a few days ago.
"Renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson stated that this total solar eclipse occurred without any warning, lasted for an extended period, and covered all regions of the World, which violates known celestial mechanics. Currently, the global scientific community has no reasonable explanation for this phenomenon…"
The screen switched, and a religious leader was giving an impassioned speech.
"This is a miracle! It is a warning from the Gods to the World, and also a blessing! We should…"
Immediately after, the screen cut to the streets of New York, where a blurry video was playing.
In the video, a golden figure hovered above Stark Tower, holding a giant sword burning with Fire, like a God or a demon.
"Witnesses claim that before the eclipse occurred, a golden humanoid creature was seen appearing above New York. Currently, the term Sun god has become the number one trending topic on the global internet, with related discussions…"
Leon watched the pixelated figure on TV, his heart undisturbed.
This was precisely the effect he wanted.
He wanted everyone to know that Earth had a new Master.
Just then, his private communication rang.
It was Tony Stark.
Leon answered casually, and Tony's face, with dark circles under his eyes, immediately appeared on the holographic screen.
"Hey, Your Highness Sun god." Tony's voice carried a deep weariness.
"Hope I'm not interrupting your sunbathing?"
"Get to the point." Leon walked to the sofa and sat down, pouring himself a glass of Water.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. is pretty much sorted out." Tony leaned back in his office chair and spun around.
"HYDRA's infiltration was even more severe than I imagined. It took me two days to clean out those old geezers on the High Council. The Skrulls problem is even more troublesome. I worked all night to make a batch of detectors, and guess how many green goblins I caught?"
"How many?" Leon asked casually.
"Over five hundred!" Tony was somewhat agitated.
"From generals in the Pentagon, to CIA analysts, and even the lunch lady in the S.H.I.E.L.D. cafeteria! These guys are absolutely everywhere! If it weren't for your reminder, Earth would have become the Skrulls' backyard long ago! Most importantly, this is just temporary; we don't know the exact total number."
"So, they're all dealt with?" Leon asked.
"Of course." Tony took a deep breath.
"I've packaged them up, ready to send them to Africa to pick cotton. As for HYDRA…"
He paused, his voice becoming serious.
"I'm still tracking down their leader. However, Coulson sent word that they seem to be looking for a guy called the Winter Soldier."
Winter Soldier? Bucky?
Leon nodded slightly.
Bucky Barnes, Captain America's best friend, a guy brainwashed by HYDRA for seventy years.
In the original plot, he would be the key to igniting the Avengers Civil War.
But now… "Don't worry about him." Leon said indifferently.
"Just a controlled puppet, he can't stir up any trouble. If you encounter him, kill him, don't ask why. Your current mission is to take control of S.H.I.E.L.D., and then, begin my plan."
"Your plan?" Tony raised an eyebrow.
"What plan? You're not actually going to ask me to help you conquer the Universe, are you?"
"Pretty much." Leon's answer almost made Tony fall off his chair.
After ending the call with Tony, Leon closed the holographic screen.
He leaned back on the sofa, his thoughts beginning to drift.
Tony's efficiency was higher than he expected; the S.H.I.E.L.D. chess piece was now active.
Next was to find Bruce Banner and bring the Hulk under his control as well.
The Hulk, with his infinite rage; Iron Man, with his endless wisdom; plus the infinitely potential Thor.
Leon was contemplating what other combat power existed in this Universe.
He had previously discovered several unusual energy sources on Earth, but hadn't confirmed what they were. He could go check them out when he had time.
Next time he was bored, he could also go play around with Ancient One, and perhaps learn some magic.
For the past few millennia, Leon had never given up on learning Kamar-Taj's magic.
But unfortunately, no matter how hard Leon tried to learn, he was always unable to draw a circle.
It was as if Kamar-Taj had muted him; everyone else could learn, but he couldn't sense magic energy.
If Leon had no talent, that would be one thing, but Leon had learned all the magic of Asgard.
The Nine Realms' greatest Archmage (not including Ancient One).
And you say he has no talent?
Shaking his head, Leon stopped thinking about the problem. He would check it out later when he had time.
"What are you thinking about?"
Darcy had walked up behind him at some point, holding half a hamburger.
She was only wearing an oversized White shirt, her two smooth, long legs brightly exposed.
"I'm thinking our vacation should probably end." Leon reached out and pulled her into his arms, letting her sit on his lap.
"Oh?" Darcy bit into her hamburger, asking indistinctly.
"Where are we going? Asgard?"
"No." Leon shook his head, his gaze deepening.
"To a more challenging place."
He remembered that Bruce was hidden deep in the slums of India.
At this time, he should be suppressing the Hulk's emergence through meditation and breathing techniques.
"To India." Leon's voice was very soft.
"To find a Doctor."
Darcy blinked, clearly not understanding his meaning.
But she didn't ask further, instead leaning obediently into Leon's embrace, continuing to munch on her hamburger.
She knew that some things were best not questioned; she just needed to be herself.
Leon said nothing more, beginning to plan his next moves in his mind.
Thor had gone to Asgard, currently undergoing re-education from Odin.
Tony had already taken control of S.H.I.E.L.D. and was clearing obstacles for him on Earth.
Thinking of this, Leon looked at Darcy.
"What about you? Are you staying here, or…"
"I'm going home for a bit." Darcy responded unexpectedly.
"Too much crazy stuff has happened these past few days. I need to go back and digest it all, and also see how Jane is doing."
Leon was a little surprised, but he didn't say much, just nodded.
"Alright."
He respected her choices; they each had their own lives, and he wouldn't forcibly interfere.
"Then I'm off." Darcy jumped out of his arms, a hint of reluctance on her face, but more so, a sense of freedom.
She stood on tiptoe and pressed a kiss to Leon's lips.
"Don't miss me too much, Your Highness. Remember to say hi to Jane for me."
With that, she turned and walked towards the door without looking back.
Leon watched her retreating figure until the door closed, then he withdrew his gaze.
He stood up and walked to the French window.
Time to get down to business.
His eyes glowed golden, and his perception instantly locked onto the suppressed gamma energy on the other side of Earth.
"Bruce Banner."
He murmured softly, his figure slowly dissipating in the Sunlight.
Now, to subdue the Hulk.
Next step… Leon's gaze pierced through the atmosphere, looking in another direction.
Afterward, he could go check on the Eternal hidden throughout the World.
The Universe's war, relying solely on these few Avengers, would be far from enough.
Just speaking of the Hulk's level, there's a Mohawk in the Shi'ar Empire.
Although in Leon's opinion, he was still a weakling, the important thing was that it showed that Earth's superheroes weren't entirely invincible.
