Chapter 1 - The War That Broke Them

You know, people have stories. Some get told, some dont. Some are good, some are bad. Some more terrible then others. But sometimes there are stories left untold. Stories no one tells. Yuki. A male, his story is one of those who were untold. This is a story for those who had there story never told. For those who need comfort, and those who may not. For those stories untold may be more painful then stories told. I may not be very good at telling stories, may not be good at writing them, but I can say this, I'll do my best to tell you of the story of a man, who went thru something no one should. A war torn era, a disaster that never thought would reach them. Sit back, and read. But be warned, im not skipping out on details.

We start in a world not our own. A world similar, but different. Lands, oceans, different . But era? Tragedy? The same or similar. In this world, on a continent of Navara. One of the three major powers. On a coastal land. Sits a village. Valmira. Valmira is a small, peaceful village, where fishing is the trade, where people laugh, enjoying there small life. Except, one small area. In a home off on edge of this village, a home no different then any others, road driveway, sits what people assume is a peaceful family. But in truth? This is where Yuki was born. Yuki Fallwood. A white boy ot 18 years old. Standing at 6ft tall, having lean figure, black hair, brown eyes. Pale tan white skin. Sitting at his desk, all focused on school work. Sure, peaceful, but his parents demand a lot. A success of life.

Yuki tries. Hes not the smartest person that exist, heck he has some issues, adhd, even a bit of autism. But that doesn't mean he's dumb. Just sometimes misses details. Or doesn't realize the way he reacted towards something wasnt correct. Yuki, tho, tries hard. Harder then people realize sometimes. Harder to be perfect. Acing exams, and more. But hes not very good at school. Not because hes bad, but because of the fact hes different. People don't understand sometimes, different doesnt always mean they are bad nor terrible. But in his school? That's what happened to him.

Outcasted, because hes different, bullied because people don't truly understand themselves. At first he tried being nice kind, but in end it broke him. Now hes cold, hes self isolated, and more quiet then people realize. He doesn't share his pain with family, they won't take it well, he believes. He doesn't talk to therapist because he doesn't believe it would work. But in end, it cracked him apart. Yuki had a fight with his parents again.

Argument and disagreements about his future. He doesn't want to be a merchant nor fisherman. He doesn't want to do normal jobs. His passion? Action based games, movies, and anime. Why? Blood pumping adrenaline. He wants ti help everyone and anyone. And mixing those, alongside liking the way equipment looks? Like vehicles, weapons, and technology. He wanted to join the military. Here in this reality, they been thru two wards just like us, sadly a third war already started here, a war that has been ongoing for 2 years now. 2025 is here. And this, is where everything shatters. A war, they thought they were safe from, they weren't. Before they could realize what's happening it's too late. A peaceful village, no more. Ships, from Althea, on the waters, the second of the three major powers. Hulking monsters of metal, boom. Bang. Craters after craters made. Limps everywhere. Blood soaking the ground, screams, yelling, crying, running. Escape not possible. Harbor of fishing boats, turn into ruins of wood and blood. And boom. When Yuki stands up, tries running to check parents, it's too late. Opening the door, what was once a house, now has a giant hole thru it. Blow back, hitting the wall, with a grunt, knocking over thing. But then once he comes to, it's too late. Scrambling to get up, he moves to the door, yelling for his parents, but…all that's left is a crater of ruble. Falling into his knees he cries, screams. This war wasnt meant to reach them, yet because they wanted to win a war, they destroy any resistance. Or try to. An hour now, after being knocked back, hes the only lucky or maybe unlucky survivor. A teen who never truly knew how as war can be, now learns first hand.

Standing up he grits his teeth. Carefully he peaks out, luckily no one is around, kinda, only three ships from Althea. One docked other two protecting it, it seems. Patrols, looking for any survivors, even if there were any, killed. Seeing this, he hurts his teeth again. Clenches his fist. Then goes silent. Be turns back into his room, only small part of the house left not super badly damaged. Collecting a backpack, then pauses at a picture, when he was younger with family. Him, his parents, smiling. Frame cracked and the glass broken, he sighs softly. Carefully he takes the picture out, slipping it into his pocket. Then huffing the backpack of clothes, his laptop, and few other things. Tho powering off the tech he has just in case, he carefully climbs down the rubble. He carefully sneaks around, barely, barely escaping. He doesn't know where he will be going, doesnt know how long it'll take to get to where he is going, but he's going somewhere.

Slipping thru trees, he finds himself, after walking for about a few days, finding rations via shops no longer open, war. War never changes. War brought pain, suffering. He is but one of many. His story tho? Untold maybe, but that's only this part. A past he carries silently. Looting places, time and again, he meets people who are like him, but sadly not all are good. In end, he had to kill to survive. He wish he didn't. He wishes this war never happened. All over what? Some things people let out between them and the fact there's a ocean of stars out there? He understands why tho. Beliefs, the thoughts of revenge. Human nature of greed, of selfishness.

But, he can't help but think, why can't it be different? Why can't we find middle ground? Respect others and respect ourselves. 'Naive' He thinks to himself. 'Nativity is the killer of kindness.' He thinks. Betrayal after betrayal. Navara, chaos. What he doesn't know, is how Navara, plotted against, betrayed by own government due to them not fully understanding everything, fallen. Scattered remnants of army. If he knew, tho, when he knows, he'll no doubt follow the path of revenge. Blood, war, survival. Soon, in one of the few small outposts still up, where refugees, remnants of military are, he reaches this place. At first guns pointed at him, but seeing him, and hearing his story, after 2 years of traveling thru broken cities, states, now half way to the other side of this continent, realizes, his village was the first of many to fall. Not just his but the whole coast. Nothing but ruins. They let him in.

Tho they'll keep a eye on him, once he enters he ends up finding a small 'bar', and sitting down not taking backpack off, due to fears and all, orders a drink, and something to eat. He knows barter was the new money, so he pushes a small box full of snacks, as payment. They accept it except, he only gets basic minimum food. Not a lot, but enough for a day's meal. And wine, one of the few things they still have, only out of pure luck, a small wine processing area was here before they moved in, so it's one of the few drinks they still have left. A way to keep morel up. Sipping the wine, he doesn't speak much. Too much talking can lead to problems. Instead he eats in silence.

Tho im comes a soldier, not higher up, but middle of the rankings, he spots Yuki, so he walks over and sits next to him. Hes been asked to talk to them, to see what intel they can get, anything helps, maybe even recruit him if they can. Disabilities as long as they don't stop one from shooting they'd recruit even if just as cannon folder to stay alive.

This first lieutenant orders small shot of wine unlike Yuki. At first silent tho.
