Chapter 30 - The Shadow of Betrayal

Though the twins reveled in their success, subtle tensions were rising. Certain main-branch families, aware of the twins' rapid ascent, began plotting in silence.

"Branch family children… excelling beyond expectations… it disrupts our hierarchy," one elder murmured.

Another nodded. "We cannot intervene directly yet. Too obvious. But when the time is right, we will claim the recognition—and resources—that should have been ours."

Back at the workshop, Michael and Matthew were unaware of these plots. They were focused on their next project: a series of weapons imbued with purified Qi and a batch of elixirs designed to protect cultivators from toxins.

"Imagine the impact these could have in combat," Michael said, examining a sword whose aura seemed to hum with potential.

Matthew smiled faintly. "And in cultivation too. These elixirs could save lives—and maybe even shift the balance of power."

The dragon turtle's voice rumbled, solemn this time. Power attracts attention. Allies and enemies alike will come. Be prepared… the clan will not remain idle forever.

Outside, the shadows lengthened. Plots and schemes began to stir within the halls of the Yin-Yang Clan and beyond. The twins' rise had begun, but the first threads of betrayal and danger were already weaving around them.

The moonlight reflected on their workshop, illuminating the twins' determined faces. They were young, powerful, and unaware that the true tests of their skills and loyalty had only just begun.
