Chapter 92 - Ch69- Ocean Day...

Chapter 69 — Ocean Day

The ocean looked endless.

Blue stretching into blue, sunlight scattering across the water like shattered glass.

For the first time in weeks…

No missions.

No enemies.

No gunshots.

Just the sea.

And nineteen people who had somehow survived everything together.

The Chaos Begins

The moment the group stepped onto the beach resort dock, chaos erupted.

"JET SKIIIIIII!" JJ screamed, already running toward the rental stand.

Keifer groaned.

"She's going to kill someone."

Too late.

JJ had already started the engine of one.

The machine roared.

Keifer sighed and grabbed another jet ski.

"If she crashes, I'm not explaining it to the insurance company."

JJ turned around with a wild grin.

"Oh relax, husband. Try to keep up."

The second the signal flag dropped—

The two shot across the water like missiles.

Spray exploded behind them.

On the dock, Honey leaned against Percy.

"Ten dollars JJ flips him off mid-race."

Percy smirked.

"She already did."

They watched as JJ turned her head back while speeding and absolutely flipped Keifer off with both hands.

Keifer shouted something furious over the engine noise.

Freya & Rakhi — Beach Photoshoot Madness

Further down the beach…

Freya stood dramatically on a rock.

Wind blowing her hair.

The sunset lighting her perfectly.

"Rakhi, angle from the left!"

Rakhi crouched with a camera.

"Left? LEFT? The sun is literally on the right!"

Freya gasped like she had just been insulted.

"You are ruining my aesthetic."

Cin leaned against a palm tree watching.

"This is why photographers drink."

Endrix sat beside him.

"She's been doing this for thirty minutes."

Freya suddenly turned.

"ENDRIX. Stop sitting like a potato. Stand next to me."

Endrix sighed and walked over.

The moment he stood beside her—

She leaned into him naturally.

Rakhi snapped the photo.

"…okay that one was actually good."

Freya smirked.

"I know."

Nova Being… Nova

Meanwhile…

Nova sat on a beach chair with a marine biology book.

Cole walked past, holding scuba gear.

"You came to the ocean to read?"

Nova didn't even look up.

"Did you know coral reefs support about 25% of marine life despite covering less than 1% of the ocean floor?"

Ben groaned from the sand beside her.

"I feel like I'm dying."

Nova glanced at him calmly.

"You're seasick."

Ben looked miserable.

"We're on land."

Nova blinked.

"…interesting."

Ben vs The Ocean

Ben tried standing.

Immediately sat back down.

Alex walked past sipping coconut water.

"Still dying?"

"Yes."

Lyra patted Ben's shoulder sympathetically.

"You threw up on the boat earlier."

Ben looked offended.

"That was tactical retreat."

Alex raised an eyebrow.

"From water?"

Architecture Talk (Because Alex Cannot Stop)

Lyra and Alex walked along the shoreline.

Waves brushing their feet.

Alex pointed toward floating villas further out.

"See the foundation design?"

Lyra nodded thoughtfully.

"Suspension pontoons. Probably reinforced carbon steel."

Alex grinned.

"You noticed."

Lyra smiled slightly.

"They're built for storm resistance."

They stopped walking.

Watching the water.

"You ever think about designing something together?" Alex asked quietly.

Lyra looked at him.

"We already are."

Ash — Healing

Near the water…

Ash stood ankle-deep in the ocean.

Letting waves wash around her.

The wind moved through her hair.

She closed her eyes.

A few months ago…

She couldn't even breathe properly without remembering everything Kevin had done.

Now?

The ocean felt calm.

Peaceful.

Behind her—

Daisy and Joong approached.

Daisy nudged her.

"Thinking dramatically again?"

Ash rolled her eyes.

"I was enjoying silence."

Joong grinned.

"With this group?"

Ash smirked.

"Fair point."

Cole Teaching Scuba Diving

Cole adjusted the oxygen tank.

"Okay Ash. Basic rule. Don't panic underwater."

Ash raised an eyebrow.

"Helpful."

Cole shrugged.

"You'd be surprised how many people forget breathing exists."

Ash laughed softly.

He handed her the mask.

"You ready?"

Ash looked at the ocean.

Then nodded.

"Yeah."

They walked into the water.

Together.

Care — Too Far Out

Hours passed.

The sun started dropping toward the horizon.

Most of the group gathered near the shore again.

Percy grilling something.

Freya showing photos.

JJ bragging about beating Keifer.

Keifer insisting the jet ski was defective.

But Cole suddenly noticed something.

Someone missing.

He scanned the ocean.

And froze.

Care.

Far out.

Too far.

Swimming alone toward deeper water.

Cole didn't say anything.

He just dove in.

Swimming fast.

Strong strokes cutting through the waves.

Care & Cole

Care floated on her back.

Looking up at the sky.

The sunset painted the clouds gold and pink.

She heard splashing.

Then Cole's voice.

"You're going to swim to another continent?"

She turned her head slightly.

Cole reached her.

Floating beside her.

"You disappeared," he said.

Care shrugged.

"Needed quiet."

They floated in silence.

Ocean rocking gently around them.

The horizon glowing orange.

Cole finally spoke softly.

"You scared me."

Care looked at him.

"You chased me."

"Of course I did."

She smiled faintly.

Neither of them said anything for a long time.

But something between them shifted.

Something quiet.

Something deeper than words.

Back On Shore

Meanwhile…

The rest of the group had noticed them.

Freya squinted toward the ocean.

"Why are they so far out?"

Cin smirked.

"Oh."

JJ gasped dramatically.

"OH."

Honey leaned forward.

"OH."

Daisy grinned.

"OH."

Rakhi whispered loudly.

"ARE THEY HAVING A MOMENT?"

When Care and Cole finally swam back—

Everyone was staring.

Cole frowned.

"…why are you all looking like that?"

JJ crossed her arms smugly.

"Oh nothing."

Freya added innocently.

"Just wondering how romantic the ocean looks."

Cole blinked.

"What?"

Daisy grinned.

"Sunset swims with Care?"

Care rolled her eyes.

"You people are unbearable."

Percy laughed.

"Oh we're just getting started."

Joong added dramatically—

"Cole chasing Care into the ocean. Classic romance scene."

Cole nearly choked.

"That's not—"

Too late.

Everyone started talking at once.

"WHEN IS THE WEDDING?"

"JET SKI HONEYMOON?"

"FLOATING VILLA DESIGN BY ALEX!"

Care grabbed a towel and threw it at them.

"Shut up!"

But she was smiling.

And Cole was too.

The sun finally disappeared below the horizon.

Nineteen survivors.

Laughing.

Teasing.

Living.

For tonight…

The ocean carried no danger.

Only the quiet promise of something new beginning.
