What kind of joke is she trying to play? I really can't understand this girl.
I had just barely scraped by, using a fluke of an old injury and a momentary gap in Bale's mana to win. But now? Now I had to face someone infinitely more intense, more powerful, and significantly more unhinged.
"What are you spacing out for?" Elena asked. She extended her arm, pointing her delicate hand toward me. "Don't tell me you are scared, Rio."
'Fighting a girl like you who has a screw loose? Yeah, I'm scared. Who wouldn't be? You are literally mad. Like, clinically terrifying mad.'
"How about this," she continued. "I won't use all of my powers, and I won't use a weapon. I will only use blood arts."
She pressed a sharp nail into the palm of her hand, just enough for a single, bead-like drop of blood to well up. The moment it touched the air, the ground beneath her began to tremble.
