A frail-looking girl with dark circles was sitting on a rusty bench across a bakery. She was holding a bag of cupcakes that was tossed out by an angry man.
Enjoying the warmth of the delicious snack, she raised the bag and savor the aroma. Then, greedily, she took the first one and took the first bite and immediately started munching it up
"Oh, so sweet!"
Giving the next one an delightful look, she ate it and her taste buds were filled.
She finished the cupcake and stood up. Rich people that were living in this part of the city were rushing past the small park on their way home from work,staring at her with strange expressions.
Looking haggard in her worn-out clothes and from the lack of sleep, unhealthily thin, Alice was indeed out of place here, with look of envy in her eyes, she threw the bag in a garbage bin.
The bag missed the bin by a huge gap and fell on the ground. Alice rolled her eyes and walked over to pick up the bag and carefully placed it in the bin.
Then with a small grin, she walked down the alley close to the bakery's back door. As she walked down she saw two men in the distance doing something shady so she decided to by the small gap between the walls.
One of the men took a gun and killed the other, Alice grasped and was immediately spotted by the killer. "Come out! I promise I'll make it quick".
Alice ran with all the strength that was in her and zoomed past the park and into the woods. "Gosh.. Why is he still chasing me?!!" Indeed her pursuer was hot on her tail and she was running until she reached the Dark side;this was the part of the woods where no one ever entered because whoever went in never comes back.
No one knows what happens in the dark side of the woods because no one ever returned. Alice stopped in her tracks as she debated whether she should go on or let herself be killed by the murderer chasing her.
Then when she felt like her head was about to explode from intense headache.
"Was it worth it? Doesn't matter, despite it all I'll be true to my promise and make it quick" The murderer was right behind her, he brought out his gun, "Do you have any last words?"
Alice didn't answer, but in her mind she had made the biggest decision in her 17 years of living. She jumped into the Dark side without looking back and she was ready to face whatever was waiting for her in the unknown.
