Chapter 77 - 77: The Debt of Infinity and the First Porter

The darkness wasn't empty. It was heavy.

Aiden didn't have a body. He was a fragment of consciousness drifting in a sea of liquid static. The white light of his final attack had burned away his physical senses, leaving him in the 'Null-Space'—the gap between the System's code and the reality it governed.

[SYSTEM CRITICAL ALERT!]

[User: Aiden (Sovereign Class)]

[Current State: Spiritual Dissolution]

[Life-Force: 1.2% (Decreasing...)]

[Warning: The 'Infinity Debt' is being collected.]

Aiden felt a cold, mechanical pull on his soul. By using a multiplier that approached infinity, he had borrowed energy that didn't exist in his world. Now, the System was trying to balance the scales by erasing his existence.

"Is this the end?" Aiden thought. The faces of Ananya and Arthur flashed in his mind, but they felt like distant stars, fading out one by one.

"It's only the end if you keep trying to carry the sky like a God," a voice boomed.

It wasn't a loud voice, but it had the weight of a mountain. Suddenly, the liquid static solidified. Aiden found himself standing—or rather, his spirit found its form—on a vast, endless plain of grey ash.

In front of him stood a man. He wasn't tall, and he wasn't glowing. He wore a simple, tattered tunic made of coarse hemp. His hands were calloused, his back slightly bent, and on his shoulders, he carried a massive, rusted iron chest that seemed to contain the weight of a thousand worlds.

"Who are you?" Aiden asked, his voice trembling.

The man set the iron chest down with a thud that shook the entire Null-Space. "I am the one who carried the first bag so the Architect could build the first wall. I am Enoch, the First Porter."

The Truth of the Soul-Ring

Aiden looked at his hand. The Soul-Ring was there, but it was dull and covered in jagged cracks. Dark smoke leaked from it.

"You've broken it," Enoch said, his eyes filled with a weary wisdom. "You thought the Soul-Ring was a weapon. You thought it was a cheat code to multiply your power. You were wrong."

Enoch walked toward Aiden, each step leaving a glowing footprint of ancient runes in the ash. "The Soul-Ring is a Regulator. It was designed to prevent the 'Internal Effort' of humanity from breaking the Architect's perfect, frozen logic. By pushing it to infinity, you didn't just kill the Void-Avatar. You cracked the seal of the Universe."

Aiden looked at the cracks. "I did it to save them. If I hadn't, Lilith would have erased everything."

"And now, the Architect is awake," Enoch said, pointing to the sky.

Above them, the grey void was beginning to peel away. Behind it lay a massive, golden gear—a clockwork sun that spanned light-years. It was the Core, the heart of the System. And it was turning.

"The Architect doesn't care about Lilith or the Eight Realms," Enoch continued. "He cares about the 'Balance.' You are a glitch that has become a virus. He is no longer sending avatars. He is rewriting the laws of physics to ensure you never existed."

The Void-Forge Quest

Aiden felt his spirit beginning to fray at the edges. The 'Infinity Debt' was catching up. "How do I stop him? How do I fix the ring?"

Enoch grabbed Aiden's hand. His grip felt like heated iron. "You cannot fix a Sovereign's tool with more power. You need Origin Material. You must go to the Void-Forge—the place where the first concepts were hammered into reality."

[NEW QUEST DETECTED!]

[Mission: Reach the Void-Forge]

[Difficulty: Divine-Impossibility]

[Current Constraint: You must travel as a 'Porter', not a 'Sovereign'.]

"What does that mean?" Aiden asked.

"It means," Enoch said, hoisting his massive iron chest back onto his shoulders, "that you must strip away the armor, the titles, and the ego. You must carry the weight of your own broken soul across the 'Ash-Plains' of the Null-Space. If you use a single multiplier, the Architect will find you and delete you instantly."

Aiden looked at the endless, desolate plains. He felt weak. His life-force was barely a flicker.

"If I fail?"

"Then the 'Core' will reset the Eight Realms," Enoch replied. "Your father, your wife, your people... they will be recycled into raw data for the next version of the world. They won't even be memories."

The First Step

Back in the Himalayan Valley, Aiden's physical body began to glow with a strange, grey light. Ananya knelt beside him, her tears falling onto his pale cheeks.

"His heartbeat... it's changing," she whispered.

Arthur stood guard, his broken blade glowing with a desperate blue light. He could feel it—the air was getting thinner, the gravity was fluctuating. The System was starting to 'uninstall' the valley.

In the Null-Space, Aiden took a breath. He looked at the cracked Soul-Ring.

"No more multipliers," Aiden whispered. "Just effort."

He took his first step. The ash was hot, burning his spirit feet. The weight of his own existence felt like he was carrying a mountain. But he didn't stop.

From the golden gear in the sky, a single, massive eye opened. It was the Architect's Eye, searching for the Sovereign. But all it saw was a lone, humble porter walking through the ash, carrying a load he had no right to survive.

Aiden smiled through the pain.

"I'm coming for the Forge," he growled.
