Chapter 8 - Hitting the Jackpot

"The difficult part of this technique is compressing a large amount of chakra into the shape of a fire dragon in an instant," Makoto explained while demonstrating the technique to Shisui Uchiha.

Since Makoto had recently gained proficient mastery of chakra shape transformation, he also shared many practical tips about controlling and shaping chakra.

"I see… I think I understand a little," Shisui nodded, preparing to try it himself.

His hands moved quickly as he formed the hand seals. Chakra surged through his body before being compressed and shaped.

"Fire Release: Dragon Flame Technique!"

Shisui opened his mouth and released a fire dragon about one meter tall. It shot into the sky, spun once, and then plunged into the river.

Clap. Clap.

Makoto smiled and applauded.

"I thought you might need a few attempts before succeeding. Looks like I underestimated your talent."

He was genuinely surprised.

Shisui hadn't even activated the Sharingan to copy the technique, yet he learned a B-rank ninjutsu in a single try.

Was this the true value of SS-level talent?

"It's because you taught it well, Teacher Makoto," Shisui replied modestly.

He didn't deny that he learned faster than most people, but he truly believed Makoto's teaching was excellent.

Aside from the first demonstration—when Makoto showed off by using only one hand seal—all the later demonstrations used the full sequence of hand seals, performed slowly while explaining each step.

"And besides, I can't really say I've mastered it yet. I can only use it."

Thinking about Makoto's version of the technique, Shisui knew he still had a long way to go. Whether it was the size of the fire dragons or their number, the difference was huge.

"In that case, I'll demonstrate the Dragon Flame Technique a few more times," Makoto said with a smile.

He was very satisfied with Shisui's humility and diligence.

Looking at the steadily increasing chakra value on his system panel every day, Makoto knew Shisui had definitely been training hard even after going home.

Time always passed quickly when someone was fully focused.

As Shisui immersed himself in training, the sky gradually darkened.

When he released another Dragon Flame Technique, he noticed the flames seemed unusually bright.

Only then did he realize that night was already approaching.

A strange thought appeared in his mind.

Could Teacher Makoto's gentle voice itself be some kind of ninjutsu technique? It made people completely forget the passage of time.

"Teacher, I should head home now," Shisui said as he prepared to leave.

"I've recently compiled some of my experience training chakra shape transformation," Makoto said, handing him a small booklet.

"You should read it when you get home."

Shisui paused for a moment before accepting the booklet. He bowed respectfully.

"Thank you, Teacher."

Although he didn't say many grand words, the respect he felt toward Makoto deepened even further.

In Shisui's eyes, Makoto was an exceptionally good teacher.

Even though they had only known each other for four days, Makoto had never once held anything back.

In fact, the more important something was, the earlier he taught it.

Makoto watched Shisui's departing figure and smiled.

As expected of his best gold mine—another big payout.

[You gifted your disciple: Chakra Shape Transformation Training Manual]

[Your disciple felt extremely grateful. Reward Critical Hit!]

[Reward Obtained: Wind Release – Pressure Damage (Proficient)]

A flood of knowledge instantly appeared in Makoto's mind.

It included numerous techniques and usage methods for Wind Release: Pressure Damage, along with some understanding of Wind Release chakra nature transformation.

Makoto was very satisfied with this reward.

Wind Release: Pressure Damage was an extremely powerful wind-style technique—one of the stronger ones within Wind Release.

It had large range, high destructive power, and could even combine well with his Fire Release techniques.

Moreover, the newly gained Wind Release nature transformation knowledge would help with the next step of his plan.

Developing the Rasengan's nature transformation.

Originally, Makoto had planned to develop a Fire Release version of the Rasengan.

But now that he had Wind Release…

Naturally, he would aim for the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken first.

After several days of experimentation, Makoto had roughly figured out the system's disciple reward mechanism.

The reward was influenced by two factors:

The value of the item he gifted

The disciple's level of gratitude

The second factor clearly carried more weight.

On the second day, he gave Shisui a skewer of snacks.

The system rewarded him with ten shuriken.

On the third day, he gave Shisui food he personally cooked.

This time, the system rewarded him with 50 chakra points.

Both were food—but the second gift was clearly more meaningful, which made Shisui happier.

And the reward was much better.

Now that Makoto understood the system's mechanics, he began planning something bigger.

He wanted Shisui to drop a huge jackpot.

Tomorrow, he planned to check Shisui's file at the academy to see when Shisui's birthday was.

Day Five After Transmigrating to the Naruto World

Makoto originally only had one class scheduled for the day.

However, a third-year teacher in the office had something to deal with and was looking for someone to substitute.

For such a great opportunity to help others, Makoto naturally wouldn't refuse.

Two classes.

One gave him +20 chakra.

The other rewarded him with Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique.

This was the first time Makoto received a ninjutsu he already knew.

But what pleasantly surprised him was that the system didn't duplicate the technique.

Instead, it increased his proficiency with the technique.

If this were a game, his Great Fireball Technique had probably just been upgraded—like gaining another level or enhancement.

"Teacher Hosokawa , you're really too nice," Aya Ueda said worriedly.

"If you keep agreeing to substitute classes like this, more teachers will start asking you."

Makoto thought to himself:

That sounds fantastic.

"I don't mind. We're colleagues after all," Makoto said with a smile. "And I really enjoy teaching students."

Aya Ueda didn't know what to say.

Looking at Makoto's expression, it seemed he genuinely meant it.

She felt like she was dreaming.

Did someone like this really exist?

Substituting classes didn't increase salary at all.

It was basically working for free.

Weekend

The Ninja Academy followed a schedule similar to Makoto's previous life: school from Monday to Friday, with weekends off.

Because of their earlier agreement, at 8 a.m., Makoto brought Obito Uchiha and Might Guy  to the same training area he used with Shisui.

The special training began.

"Why do we have to wake up so early even on our day off?" Obito groaned while lying across the desk Makoto had prepared in advance.

"Is it early? I think it's fine," Guy scratched his head, completely unable to relate.

Makoto handed each of them a test paper.

He had written these papers himself according to their current course progress.

After all, they had only attended the academy for five days. Giving them last year's monthly exam directly would be unrealistic.

Besides, for students like them, Makoto didn't plan on having them solve difficult questions.

As long as they secured the easy points, that would be enough.

Passing was all he needed.

"Teacher Makoto… what's going on here?"

Not long after, Shisui arrived for training.

Seeing Obito and Guy struggling miserably with test papers, he looked confused.

"They're fourth-year students," Makoto explained. "I'm giving them tutoring lessons. You can continue your training—it won't interfere."

Shisui's arrival wasn't a coincidence.

Makoto had invited him last night.

As for the reason…

Makoto thought it would be quite interesting to watch.

Two senior students painfully working through boring test papers—

while a younger student trained powerful ninjutsu right beside them.

That scene…

would definitely be entertaining.
