Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Shadows Closing In

The black cars had just disappeared down the road, but the tension in the park still remained.

Aarav stood silently, staring at the direction where the men had gone. His mind was racing with questions.

Anaya slowly sat on the bench, still trying to process everything.

"This is getting more dangerous every minute," she said quietly.

Aarav nodded.

"But now we know the truth," he replied. "Rohan's uncle is behind everything."

Anaya looked worried.

"And he's coming to the city tonight."

The evening wind blew through the trees, making the leaves rustle softly.

For a moment, everything felt too quiet.

Aarav sat beside Anaya and gently held her hand.

"Whatever happens," he said softly, "I'm not leaving you again."

Anaya looked at him with a small smile.

"You better not."

But the worry in her eyes hadn't disappeared.

"Aarav… what if Rohan's uncle really wants revenge against your family?"

Aarav thought for a moment.

"My father never told me anything about this," he said.

"Maybe he was hiding it," Anaya replied.

Aarav frowned.

"That's what I need to find out."

He stood up suddenly.

"I'm going home."

Anaya looked surprised.

"Now?"

"Yes," Aarav said firmly. "I need to talk to my father."

Anaya stood up too.

"I'm coming with you."

Aarav shook his head gently.

"No. It might be dangerous."

Anaya crossed her arms.

"I'm not letting you face this alone."

Aarav couldn't help but smile a little.

"You're stubborn."

"And you love that about me," she replied.

He laughed softly.

"Okay. Let's go."

They began walking toward the road.

The sky was slowly turning dark as night approached.

Streetlights flickered on one by one.

After a few minutes, they reached Aarav's house.

It was quiet.

Too quiet.

Aarav frowned.

"That's strange."

"What is?" Anaya asked.

"My father's car is outside… but the lights are off."

Aarav slowly opened the front gate.

The two of them stepped inside carefully.

"Aarav… I have a bad feeling," Anaya whispered.

He pushed the door open.

The living room was dark.

"Dad?" Aarav called out.

No answer.

Aarav turned on the lights.

The moment the room lit up—

Both of them froze.

The house looked like it had been completely searched.

Furniture was overturned.

Drawers were open.

And in the middle of the room…

Aarav's father was sitting on a chair with his hands tied behind his back.

Standing beside him was a tall man in a black suit.

His expression was cold.

He slowly clapped his hands.

"So… the son finally arrived."

Aarav felt his heart drop.

The man smiled slightly.

"Nice to meet you, Aarav."

Then he said the words that sent a chill down his spine.

"I've been waiting a long time to meet the son of the man who destroyed my life."

The room fell silent.

Aarav realized something terrifying.

This man…

was Rohan's uncle.

And the real nightmare had just begun.

Just as Aarav took a step forward—

The man pulled out a gun.

Pointing it directly at Aarav, he smiled coldly and saidAarav looked at his tied father in shock.

"Dad… what is happening?" he asked, his voice shaking.

But his father didn't answer.

Instead, he slowly looked away.

For the first time in his life… Aarav saw fear in his father's eyes.

The man in the black suit suddenly laughed softly.

"Why are you asking me?" he said calmly.

Then he nodded toward Aarav's father.

"Ask him yourself, Aarav."

Aarav's heart started beating faster.

The man's smile slowly widened.

And then he said the words that made the room fall into a terrifying silence—

"Ask him what he really did ten years ago."
