Chapter 1 - The New Hot Disaster

Riverview Academy had always been… predictable. I thrived in its routine top of the class, my nose in books, everyone knowing me as the "brilliant nerd" who could solve anything from calculus problems to chemistry experiments before anyone else even blinked. Life was simple, controlled, and boring in the best way.

Until today.

The classroom door swung open, and everything changed.

Heads turned instantly. Whispers ran through the room. Girls gasped. Boys nudged each other, murmuring. And there he was.

Tall, dark, sharp-featured, with a body that made every girl's stomach flip instantly. Broad shoulders, effortless posture, smirk that screamed confidence, and eyes that were clearly used to getting exactly what he wanted. He didn't even look around as the teacher introduced him he didn't need to. Every eye in the room was already glued to him.

"Class, this is Adrian, the new student. Please make him feel welcome," Mr. Lawson said, smiling awkwardly as if he could somehow contain the storm of attention that had just entered the room.

Adrian sauntered to the back, dropping his bag with a thud that somehow demanded attention, then leaned back in his chair like he owned the classroom. His smirk widened as he scanned the room slow, deliberate, teasing every girl who dared to look.

I tried not to stare. I really did. But when my best friend, Lisa, elbowed me and whispered, "Chelsea Omg… look at him! He's hot! You're telling me the nerd queen isn't drooling too?"

I shot her a glare that could have burned a hole in the wall. "Don't even joke about that."

But Lisa's teasing grin wouldn't let me forget. I glanced up and for the first time, our eyes met. Well… his eyes were on me, and he smirked knowingly, as if he could see exactly what I was thinking.

My stomach twisted not in attraction, but in pure, white-hot hatred.

Who did he think he was, strolling into my class like this? With that infuriatingly perfect body, those teasing eyes, that cocky smile that made girls swoon and my blood boil all at once?

I clenched my fists, pretending to scribble notes, but I couldn't look away. Every little movement he made, every flick of his hair, every glance at the girls around him… it was disgusting. And I hated him for it.

Lisa leaned over again, whispering, "You're staring. Admit it. You're intrigued."

I snapped my notebook shut and glared at her. "Intrigued? I hate him. With a passion. Pure hatred."

She laughed softly. "Sure, sure… but everyone knows it takes one look at him to be hooked."

I refused to look at Adrian again. My heart was racing in a way that made me uncomfortable, and my pride as the school's top nerd wasn't going to allow me to get flustered by some cocky transfer student.

And yet… even as I buried my head in my notes, I couldn't shake the feeling that this semester was going to be a disaster—and Adrian was the hurricane.
