Chapter 69 - chapter 69

"This killer move has many problems. It requires one hundred and twenty seconds to complete, which is far too long in the middle of a battle. Therefore, I may only get the chance to use it at the beginning of a fight, after storing the lightning beforehand.

Furthermore, it requires a great deal of concentration… but with enough practice, I should be able to overcome that problem."

Jian Long was deep in thought, analyzing the flaws of his killer move and trying to find ways to improve it, when Yuè Fēi's voice interrupted him.

"What do you think?"

Jian Long felt slightly annoyed at being interrupted, but eventually replied:

"My thoughts on what?"

Yuè Fēi stared at him for a moment before asking in an exasperated tone:

"Weren't you listening to me this whole time?"

Yuè Fēi placed a hand over his face, then ran it over his head, attempting to adjust the few strands of hair he had left, which were somehow both sparse and long, as though he hoped they would conceal the obvious signs of balding.

Then Yuè Fēi took a breath and began explaining patiently:

"I was talking about how to invest in this technique and profit from it. Now that we've registered the patent under both our names, we're its sole owners. All that remains is to turn it into a source of income.

To achieve that, we need to promote it. I think the best way would be for you to participate in the city's fighting matches, so people can see our new technique in action. That would be excellent publicity for it!"

Apart from the brief period he had spent with the caravan, Jian Long had no experience in trade or business deals. As a result, he understood little of what Yuè Fēi was saying about investment and promotion—topics he had been discussing for days, ever since he began showing interest in the technique they were developing.

Even so, Jian Long was not convinced that the idea would work.

As far as he was concerned, the technique still had numerous flaws, and he was uncertain whether it could succeed in the market or attract people's interest.

On top of that, he did not want to reveal that he possessed such a technique before completing the mission he had undertaken to eliminate the Bai clan.

For that reason, every time Yuè Fēi suggested that he participate in the city's fighting matches, Jian Long refused.

"I've told you again and again that I'm not going to do that."

"Why?!" Yuè Fēi shouted, irritation clearly showing on his thin face.

"Wait, where are you going?! You haven't answered my questions!"

Jian Long stood up from his seat and headed toward the door, trying to evade Yuè Fēi's endless questions.

"We'll talk about this later. Goodbye."

Before Yuè Fēi could say anything else, Jian Long activated the Lightning Speed Gu and disappeared directly from in front of him.

"Hehe… I think I've gotten far enough away from him."

Jian Long thought as he continued on his way, then lowered his gaze to his tattooed hands.

"Now that I've finally managed to create this move… what should I name it? Hmmmm…"

To Jian Long, the name of an ability was extremely important.

If the move was powerful, then it needed a name worthy of it.

For that reason, he had spent the past ten days thinking of a suitable name, but he still hadn't found anything that completely satisfied him.

"Should I call it Chidori?"

He paused for a moment, then shook his head.

"It's a great name… but people in this world won't understand what it means. What's the point of having a cool name if no one understands it?"

He thought for a while before smiling.

"I suppose I have no choice but to give it a name from this world."

Then he said confidently:

"Then… I'll call it Ten Thousand Thunders as One,now, all that remains is to master my other killer move… Dianmu's Mirrors."

This was the name Jian Long had given to the killer move he developed using the Lightning Speed Gu.

In truth, creating this move had been much easier than creating Ten Thousand Thunders as One.

During his repeated practice with the Lightning Speed Gu, he discovered something strange.

In the fractions of a second between activating the Lightning Speed Gu and actually using it, he was able to sense the metals around him, as well as the Lightning Cloud Crystals within a range of three hundred meters.

At first, he didn't pay much attention to it. He assumed that sensing metal was simply a side effect of the Lightning Speed Gu.

However, after experimenting with the Lightning Cloud Crystals, he discovered that the result was completely different.

Each Lightning Crystal acted like a radar, allowing him to sense the other Lightning Crystals around him.

And it didn't stop there.

When Jian Long traveled to one of those crystals, the crystal itself transformed into lightning, which his body then automatically absorbed.

Because of this, he was able to surpass the original three-hundred-meter range and travel to another Lightning Crystal, then use the next crystal as a new point of transit.

Thus, Jian Long discovered that he could move at lightning speed without being restricted by the three-hundred-meter limit.

As long as there were Lightning Crystals in the area, distance was no longer an obstacle to him.

With Yuè Fēi's help, Jian Long managed to purchase the Among the Clouds Gu, a Gu used to produce Lightning Cloud Crystals, which served as food for certain Gu worms.

Thanks to this, Jian Long found a way to produce Lightning Cloud Crystals himself.

However, this killer move still had several problems.

The first problem was that he couldn't control the location of the Lightning Cloud Crystals when they were produced. If they weren't collected, they would gradually spread through the air over time, making it difficult to ensure that they remained in the locations where he needed them.

The second problem was that the Among the Clouds Gu produced only a small number of Lightning Cloud Crystals with each use.

This meant that Jian Long couldn't use this killer move whenever he wanted.

Instead, he had to begin preparing long before a battle, so that he could make use of the killer move during combat.
