Chapter 20 - The Council of Heavens

The ocean below was now a tiny blue dot. The Golden Dragon was not sailing on water anymore. It was riding a beam of pure white light, climbing a "Sky Bridge" made of frozen clouds. Ye Chen stood at the front of the ship. His suit was torn, and his face was tired, but his eyes were like two burning stars. Behind him, Su Mei held onto the railing, her breath coming in short gasps. The air was thin, sweet, and filled with the sound of ancient bells.

They were approaching the final peak. This was the place where the world's first ledger was written. This was the Sky Palace.

---

The Sky Palace was a massive city made of white jade and floating gold. It sat on top of the highest clouds, hidden from every satellite and every telescope. It was the "Brain" of the planet. Here, the "Twelve High Judges" sat in a circle. They were not humans. They were the original architects who had lived for thousands of years, watching the world like a game of chess.

As the Golden Dragon touched the marble docks of the palace, the white light faded. The silence was absolute.

[Ding! Coordinate Reached: The Sky Palace - The Throne of All.]

[Sign-In Requirement: Walk to the Center of the Hall without looking back.]

[Reward: The 'Architect's True Form' & Total Control of the Global Pulse.]

Ye Chen stepped off the ship. He didn't look at the beautiful gardens. He didn't look at the waterfalls of liquid silver. He walked straight toward the Great Hall.

"Ye Chen! Wait!" Su Mei called out. She tried to follow him, but an invisible wall of energy pushed her back. "I can't go with you! The pressure is too strong!"

"Stay with the ship, Su Mei," Ye Chen said. He didn't turn his head. "This is a debt I have to collect alone."

He walked for a thousand steps. With every step, he felt the weight of his life. He felt the hunger of his janitor days. He felt the cold rain on the night he was betrayed. He felt the anger of the people who had been robbed by the Four Families. He took all that weight and turned it into a single, sharp point of will.

Step 500... Step 800... Step 1,000.

[Ding! Sign-In Successful!]

[Reward: Architect's True Form Activated.]

[Status: You are now the 'Final Auditor' of the Human World.]

---

The doors of the Great Hall swung open. Inside, twelve giants sat on thrones made of light. Their faces were made of shifting stars. These were the High Judges. They were the ones who had allowed the "Underground Court" and the "Tax Collectors" to exist. To them, the suffering of the world was just a "necessary error" to keep the system running.

"Ye Chen," the High Judge in the center spoke. His voice felt like a mountain falling. "You have cleared the floors. You have fixed the banks. You have defeated the leeches. But you have also destroyed the 'Balance of Fear.' Without fear, the humans will grow too fast. They will consume the planet. Why should we allow you to take the Throne?"

Ye Chen stood in the center of the hall. He looked tiny compared to the giants, but his King's Presence was so strong that the jade floor began to crack.

"I'm not here to ask for permission," Ye Chen said. "I'm here to give you the final bill."

He pulled out the Jade Ledger. It was glowing so brightly that the giants had to shield their eyes.

"I've spent the last twenty-four hours auditing your 'Balance of Fear'," Ye Chen continued. "You say it's necessary? I say it's a scam. You've been taking a 'Service Fee' from every human soul for ten thousand years. You've been hoarding the 'Life Light' of the planet to keep your palace floating while the people below struggled in the dark."

The giants began to murmur. The light in the room turned a deep, angry red.

"We are the Creators!" another Judge shouted. "We are the ones who gave your family the power! We can take it back with a single thought!"

"You didn't give us the power," Ye Chen said, stepping forward. "You made a contract with my ancestor. You promised to guide the world, not to eat it. You broke the contract first. And as the Final Auditor, I am declaring this palace 'Bankrupt'."

---

The twelve Judges stood up at once. They raised their hands, and twelve beams of "Negative Light" shot toward Ye Chen. This was the ultimate power, the power to delete a soul from history.

[System Warning: Total Deletion Attack Detected!]

[Goal: Use 'The Sovereign Command' to redirect the debt.]

Ye Chen didn't use a shield. He didn't run. He opened his arms wide. He used his Ancient Eye to see the "Threads of Debt" connecting the Judges to the world below. Every giant was connected to millions of people they had robbed.

"You want to delete me?" Ye Chen shouted. "I am the Voice of the Debt! I am the Janitor of the Universe! Every tear, every drop of sweat, every stolen dream, I am bringing them all here, right now!"

Suddenly, the twelve beams of light hit Ye Chen, but they didn't hurt him. They were sucked into the Jade Ledger. The ledger acted like a giant vacuum, pulling the "Negative Light" through Ye Chen's body and sending it back down the threads to the giants.

The High Judges let out a scream that shook the very clouds.

"The weight! It's too much!" the High Judge cried. "Ten thousand years of debt! We can't hold it!"

"Then fall," Ye Chen said.

He slammed the Jade Ledger onto the central pedestal.

[Protocol Activated: Total Redistribution.]

In an instant, the gold and jade of the Sky Palace began to melt. The light was being sucked out of the palace and sent back down to the earth. Across the world, every person felt a sudden surge of energy. The sick felt healthy. The tired felt strong. The "Life Light" was finally going back to its rightful owners.

The twelve giants began to fade. Their star-faces turned into dust. One by one, their thrones crumbled into nothingness.

The Great Hall was gone. The Sky Palace was gone. Ye Chen was standing in the empty air, thousands of feet above the earth. But he wasn't falling. He was standing on a floor of pure, golden logic.

---

Su Mei and the Golden Dragon were floating nearby. She watched as the palace vanished into a million sparks of light. She saw Ye Chen standing in the center of the sun, looking like a god of the new world.

"Is it... is it finished?" she whispered into her radio.

"The old account is closed, Su Mei," Ye Chen's voice came through, clear and peaceful. "The 'Architects' are gone. The 'Tax Collectors' are gone. The world belongs to the people now. No more hidden masters. No more secret ledgers."

Ye Chen looked down at the earth. He saw the Golden District. He saw the Hidden Valley. He saw the lighthouse. Everything was bright. Everything was clean.

[Ding! Final Arc Accomplished: The Sovereign Architect.]

[Total Sign-In Points: 1,000,000.]

[Final Reward: The World is Your Ledger. You can create or erase anything with a thought.]

Ye Chen looked at the message. He had reached the peak. He had 0 steps left. He was the most powerful being on the planet. He could have lived forever in the sky. He could have built a new palace for himself.

But Ye Chen didn't want a palace.

He closed his eyes and thought about a small, dusty hotel room. He thought about a bucket of soapy water and a mop. He thought about the smell of honest work.

"System," Ye Chen said. "Delete the 'Sovereign' title. Delete the 'God' status. Keep the money in the trust for the people. But for me... I want to go back."

[System Warning: If you delete the status, you will be a normal man again. You will have no powers. Are you sure?]

"I'm sure," Ye Chen said with a smile. "I've finished the cleaning. I want to enjoy the house."

---

The white light exploded one last time.

When Ye Chen opened his eyes, he was standing in the lobby of the Royal Oak Hotel. It was morning. The sun was shining through the clean glass windows. He was wearing his old janitor uniform, but it was clean and pressed.

He didn't have a glowing ledger. He didn't have a "King's Presence." He was just Ye Chen.

He picked up a mop and a bucket. He started to clean the floor near the golden lion statue.

A group of rich businessmen walked past. One of them stopped and looked at Ye Chen. "Hey, you! Make sure you get that spot by the door. It looks a bit dusty."

Ye Chen looked up and smiled. "Yes, sir. I'll get right on it."

The businessman walked away, never knowing that the man with the mop had saved his life and his soul just ten minutes ago.

Su Mei walked into the lobby. She was no longer a CEO or a strategist. She was wearing a simple dress and carrying a bag of groceries. She saw Ye Chen and stopped. She didn't bow. She didn't call him "Master."

"Hey, Chen," she said, her eyes full of love. "Are you almost done? I'm making dinner tonight."

"Just a few more minutes, Mei," Ye Chen said. "I want to make sure the foundation is perfect."

He pushed the mop across the floor. The world was at peace. The debt was gone. The truth was out. And the Architect was finally home, doing the one thing he loved most.

Cleaning.
