Chapter 21 - Chapter 22- best friends

The release of the first trailer for Random Life didn't just create a buzz; it caused a seismic shift in Hollywood. The two-minute clip, featuring haunting, grainy shots of Anastasia and Cameron's characters spiraling together, became the most talked-about piece of film in the country. The industry was stunned by the transformation of the "porcelain prodigy" into a gritty, raw force of nature—and by the electric, unknown blonde who seemed to be her perfect, protective shadow.

To capitalize on the momentum, the studio organized a prestigious international press conference. But Anastasia had one condition: the conference had to take place in London, back where the "burn" had first started.

The Return FlightThe "Jones Firm" boarded their flight back across the Atlantic, but the vibe was vastly different from their first trip. This time, they weren't unknowns seeking a break. They were a movement.

The midnight-blue Mercedes was waiting for them at Heathrow, and as Sarah drove them toward the heart of the city, the sisters looked out the windows at the streets where they had once walked as mere tourists. Now, billboards for Random Life were already beginning to appear.

"Look at that," Beth said, pointing to a massive poster. "You two look like you're about to set the city on fire."

Cameron reached over and squeezed Anastasia's hand, her blue eyes bright. "It feels like a lifetime ago that we were wandering these streets, doesn't it?"

The London ConferenceThe conference was held in the grand ballroom of the Savoy. Hundreds of journalists from across Europe and America were packed into the room, their cameras clicking incessantly the moment the four women entered.

Anastasia and Cameron sat at the center of the long table, with Sarah and Beth flanking them. Sarah had her leather-bound planner open, her eyes scanning the room like a hawk, while Beth managed the microphones with a charming, effortless grace.

"Anastasia," a reporter from a major London daily called out. "The chemistry between you and Miss Diaz is being called the most intense in a decade. People are saying it's almost... frightening. How did you achieve that?"

Anastasia leaned into the microphone, her forest-green eyes steady. "It wasn't something we 'achieved.' It was something we recognized. In this industry, people are often looking for what they can take from you. When I met Cameron, I realized she was the first person who only wanted to stand with me."

The "Best Friends" DeclarationCameron took the microphone, her voice slightly trembling but gaining strength as she looked at Anastasia. The "burning" in her chest was palpable, even to the people in the back of the room.

"We didn't just play characters who were best friends," Cameron said, her voice echoing through the silent hall. "We became them. In the process of filming Random Life, we realized that we were facing the same world, just from different angles. Anastasia isn't just my co-star. She's my anchor. She's the person who made me realize that I didn't have to be 'just a model' or 'just a girl.' I could be a powerhouse."

She paused, looking directly at the "suspicious" journalists who had questioned Anastasia's rise.

"People want to find a secret behind our success. The secret is simple: we trust each other more than we trust the industry. We are best friends, and that bond is the engine behind everything you see on that screen."

The Sisterhood FortressThe questions then turned to Sarah and Beth. "Is it true that the 'Jones Sisters' are now the primary negotiators for all future projects?"

Sarah leaned forward, her expression professional and unshakable. "That is correct. We aren't interested in traditional representation. We manage our own house. Every contract for Anastasia and Cameron goes through this table. We protect the work, and we protect each other."

As the conference ended, the image of the four of them—four young, beautiful, and incredibly powerful women standing together—became the defining photo of the year.

The Midnight WalkThat night, after the madness had died down, Anastasia and Cameron walked through the cool London fog toward the Thames. The "fortress" was close behind, but for a moment, the two of them stood at the railing of the Embankment.

"They finally see it, don't they?" Cameron whispered, looking at the city lights.

"They see what we want them to see," Anastasia replied, leaning her head on Cameron's shoulder. "But they'll never really know what it's like inside the circle."

The Apple stock back home had ticked up another 2%. The film was tracking to be a massive hit. And the "Jones Firm" was no longer just a family—it was an empire.
