Rhett reached out as if compelled. The blood mist carried life force and continuously filled the crystal coffin. The girl inside the coffin began to absorb his life force. Just when he had transferred enough—
The girl's eyelashes fluttered. She slowly opened her eyes. They were deep blue.
To everyone's shock, the girl pushed open the coffin lid and unhesitatingly threw herself into Rhett's arms. Her embrace was warm and real. Her voice was soft but firm.
"This was my choice."
Rhett stood frozen. Hey, lady? We've known each other for a few seconds. You're overstepping.
Perona looked at Rhett, with his black hair and red eyes. Then she looked at the girl, with her white hair and blue eyes.
Perona floated in the air, her head moving back and forth as if repeatedly confirming.
"Lord Rhett... is this your daughter?"
Tesoro pushed up his glasses. "Captain, when did you... So that's why you needed the whole crew to come. A princess. Yes, she's certainly worthy of that."
"Shut up, all of you. Don't make fun of me. I don't know her at all." Rhett shouted at his crew. He looked down at the girl still clinging to him. "Who are you? Why do you have my life force?"
The girl wasn't upset that Rhett didn't remember her. She stood up gracefully and flipped her silver-white hair back with her fingers. She gave a bright smile.
"Hello, everyone. Please forgive me, I just woke up. I don't remember much. Nice to meet you. My name is Witte."
She emphasized the pronunciation of the last syllable. She winked. "Oh~ 'Te' is the last name. I'm not Rhett's daughter."
"Your name is very strange? Wait, according to your two-character name, shouldn't 'Wei' be the last name?" Rhett criticized without mercy.
The playful clarification immediately lightened the tense atmosphere. Enel had a "who cares" look on his face.
"Growl~"
Witte touched her flat stomach and looked a little apologetic. "I'm sorry, everyone. I haven't eaten in a very long time. I'm a little hungry. Could I have some food?"
Her gaze swept over everyone and finally landed on Tesoro. "Covered in gold, extraordinary. There's a wedding ring on your ring finger. I heard the Golden Emperor always has the best wine and desserts on his ship?"
Tesoro raised an eyebrow. "How did you know—"
"I guessed." Witte cut him off with a smile. She turned to Moria. "The Shadow-Spirit Fruit user. Tall, with pale skin. You must be Mr. Moria. Then the one next to you must be little Perona?"
Moria nodded. She then bowed to Enel. "Thank you, Mr. Enel, for reactivating this city."
Little Perona flew to Witte's side. "Do you know me?"
"I've heard of you. As for meeting you, this is the first time. You're a very cute little girl."
"Thank you, pretty big sister. Here cotton candy for you"
Rhett narrowed his eyes. The blood mist slowly swirled around him. "You know every one of us."
"Didn't you tell me?" Witte naturally took the cotton candy Perona gave her and took a small bite. "Mm~ Just as sweet as I imagined. I hope to join Rhett's crew for the next adventure. What do you say, Captain?"
Her gaze was frank as she looked at Rhett. There was a deep affection in her red eyes, but she kept a proper distance. This kind of ambiguous attitude felt both familiar and strange to Rhett.
"I refuse." Rhett's voice was cold.
Witte wasn't upset. She just sighed softly. "Still the same as always." She reached out her hand, but pulled it back. "It's okay. I'll prove my worth."
Just as she was about to continue—
Rhett's arms suddenly developed fine cracks. Witte's expression changed. She quickly stepped back. "I'm sorry. It seems I mentioned something I shouldn't have."
The cracks healed at a visible speed. Everyone looked at each other. This strange phenomenon was clearly related to Witte.
Tesoro pushed up his glasses. "It seems you have many secrets, miss."
Witte playfully curtsied. "Everyone has things in their past they don't want to talk about, don't they?" She looked at Rhett. Her eyes were gentle but firm. "But please rest assured. I will never hurt you."
So Rhett was now one hundred percent certain that he had created this situation himself. She said something about the past, and you cracked on me?! What's wrong with you?! Time!
"Alright, alright, don't frown. I know you don't like things being out of your control." Witte grinned. "To put it simply, I'm older than all of you. Much, much older."
Rhett felt that this person was evil. Don't let her manners and politeness fool you. It was a feeling. She was absolutely evil. This was Evil Rhett's garbage radar.
Rhett stared at Witte for a long time. Finally, he scratched his head in frustration. "Tch. Fine, do whatever you want. But don't expect any special treatment from me."
"Great!" Witte clapped her hands happily. Her eyes curved into crescent moons. "I'll be a good crew member~"
Rhett: Confirmed. Absolutely confirmed. She is absolutely evil.
And so, Witte temporarily joined Rhett's crew. On the ship, she acted both familiar and strange. This contradiction made Rhett very concerned.
......
Enel charged all the energy on the moon at once. The entire city of Birka was revitalized.
According to Witte, this power reserve would be enough to keep the city running for ten years. The little robots cheered and hailed Enel as the "God of Thunder." They believed he had given them new life. They followed him around every day, much to his "annoyance."
"This god doesn't have time to play with you!" Enel kicked away a little robot clinging to his leg. The robot not only didn't let go but was moved to tears. "God Boss kicked me! This is a divine blessing!"
"Wow~" xN
Enel: "..."
These little ones could charge in the holes in the city walls. But every day at the same time, they would line up and beg him to charge them. It was like fans waiting to see their idol.
Even though Enel complained, why couldn't he keep the smile off his face every time he discharged?
"Receive the blessing of the god!"
"Yes, God Boss!"
Enel clearly enjoyed being worshiped. No wonder he could later establish the "Enel Army" here. Or something like that.
