Several students immediately voiced their agreement.

"Yeah!"

"He thinks he's special just because he beat Leon and the others."

"Nothing but a commoner who got lucky."

"Someone needs to put him in his place."

Ash quickly counted them.

Around thirty students.

Almost all of them were nobles.

Many had clearly been friends or acquaintances of the group he had humiliated earlier.

Meanwhile, the commoner students wisely moved out of the way.

Nobody wanted to get involved.

Even Lith watched from his seat in the middle rows.

"Are they serious?" Solus asked.

"It appears so," Lith replied.

" As I said he only added more troubles to himself. He should have taken the Ballot" Lith added as he have no reason to help Ash.

The nobles continued approaching.

Some looked angry.

Others looked eager.

A few simply wanted to see what would happen.

Ash remained seated.

Then he slowly looked around the classroom.

Thirty students.

Most were Bright Green Core mages.

A handful were different shades Cyan and blue.

Not a single one posed a real threat to him.

A grin appeared on his face.

"Well," Ash said as he stood up from his seat.

"I was getting bored anyway."

The moment those words left his mouth, several nobles stopped walking.

For some reason, the smile on his face made them feel uneasy.

Very uneasy.

Ash stretched his arms casually.

The joints in his shoulders and neck produced a series of cracking sounds.

Then he looked directly at the approaching group.

"I hope you lot last longer than that crying bitch."

Ash pointed at Leon, whose face immediately turned red from humiliation.

Several other nobles glared at him as well.

Then they charged.

"So boring."

Ash sighed.

He casually raised a hand.

"Gravity Well."

As he spoke, he traced a rune in the air.

In reality, the spell itself was mostly for show.

Ash had already sensed a powerful presence standing just outside the classroom door.

Most likely the next professor.

Since the nobles had attacked first, he doubted he would get into any serious trouble.

At least, he hoped so.

The moment the spell activated, the gravity around the charging students suddenly increased several times over.

The effect was immediate.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

More than thirty noble students were slammed face-first into the floor.

Several of them cried out in pain.

A few even chipped or lost teeth from the impact.

The classroom fell silent.

Ash looked down at them.

"Please."

"Did you really think numbers alone were enough to beat me?"

The gravity continued pressing them down.

None of the students could even stand up.

The scene continued for several more seconds before a voice suddenly interrupted.

"That's enough."

The pressure instantly vanished.

A beautiful woman walked into the classroom and stepped onto the teaching platform.

The noble students quickly scrambled back to their feet.

The woman glanced around the room before speaking.

"Everyone back to your seats."

The students obeyed immediately.

Then her gaze swept over the nobles.

"And don't think I missed what happened."

The noble students visibly paled.

"You attempted to attack another student and failed rather spectacularly."

Several students lowered their heads in embarrassment.

The professor shook her head.

"Minus one hundred points to everyone who participated in that little stunt."

The nobles groaned.

Then she looked at Ash.

"And plus one thousand points to Ash."

The entire classroom froze.

Even Ash blinked in surprise.

The professor continued.

"For displaying excellent spell control and showing enough restraint to avoid causing unnecessary injuries."

Ash gave her a respectful nod.

"Thank you, Professor."

The noble students looked even more miserable.

After all, academy points were the true currency of White Griffon Academy.

Everything inside the academy could be purchased with points.

Training resources.

Special lessons.

Advanced books.

Private practice rooms.

Even certain magical materials.

Losing one hundred points on the very first day was already painful.

Watching the person they had tried to punish gain one thousand points because of it made the loss feel even worse.

Many of them looked like they wanted to cry.

The professor ignored their expressions and turned toward the class.

"Now then."

"Let's begin today's lesson."

" First of all, Good morning, boys and girls. My name is Valesa Nalear, nice to meet you all."

"Now, before going back to the course's topic, one last word of warning for you scum."

The professor's eyes swept across the noble students.

"The next time I catch any of you doing something disrespectful toward one of your classmates, I will make every single one of you regret not having a Guilty Ballot."

The classroom fell silent.

"Are we clear?"

No one dared to answer.

"Perfect."

She nodded.

"Now let's forget about your pathetic and miserable existences so I can explain what Principles of Advanced Magic is actually about."

She walked toward the chalkboard.

A long, thin piece of chalk appeared in her hand from her spatial ring.

With a few quick movements, she drew a simple human silhouette.

"As you should already know from your first three years, every human possesses a certain degree of magical talent."

She tapped the drawing.

"The extent of that talent is determined by the amount of mana stored within the mana well."

The professor then pointed at the knees of the silhouette.

A blue glow filled the figure up to that point.

"This represents a normal human."

Next, she tapped the chest area.

The blue glow rose accordingly.

"This represents a Magico or Magica."

Finally, she tapped the head.

The entire silhouette became filled with glowing blue light.

"And this represents a mage."

The students listened attentively.

"While casting the first three tiers of magic, hand signs and magic words function like a bucket."

She drew a bucket beside the silhouette.

"You lower the bucket into the mana well and pull out the exact amount of mana required for the spell."

She turned toward the class.

"As long as you can form a perfect bucket, the spell succeeds."

Several students nodded.

"So far, simple."

Then her expression became serious.

"Unfortunately, from Tier Four onward, that process no longer works."

Ash immediately focused.

This was exactly the information he had been searching for.

"Tier Four magic requires so much mana that there are only two methods to extract it from the mana well."

She raised one finger.

"The first method is the one taught in minor academies and described in most publicly available books."

"A larger bucket."
