"Let me tell you, while nutritional balance is important, if the taste isn't good, it won't attract the patient, and it'll still be useless." While speaking, Ash sprinkled special spices into the berry jam and started stirring.
A rich, sweet, and fragrant aroma continuously spread outward. Suzie, as a Pokémon Breeder, took a slight sniff of the aroma and said, "This scent can easily attract Pokémon."
"Exactly. That's why I rarely make this in the wild, as it tends to attract a bunch of wild Pokémon. That's how I met those old friends in the mountains behind my house." While setting aside a portion of the jam and adding bitter spices, Ash noticed Pidgeot drooling.
"Hold on a sec, Pidgeot."
"Pidgeot!" (Boss is the best!)
While Ash was continuously adding seasonings, the grass nearby rustled. Then, a bunch of little noses poked out into the air, sniffing hard at the permeating scent. Seeing these little noses, Ash looked a bit surprised.
"Look at this group of Pikachus with their noses twitching like crazy." He took out a spoon, scooped up some jam, and slowly passed it in front of the little noses. Instantly, the noses of the attracted little guys followed the spoon. These little ones weren't afraid of being caught by Ash; they just stared straight at the jam on the spoon and walked out of the bushes.
Seeing this, Ash revealed a mischievous smile and said, "Psyduck, open your mouth."
"Qua!" Hearing Ash, Psyduck, who was already drooling, immediately opened its mouth, letting Ash feed it a spoonful of jam. After eating it, Psyduck instantly showed a blissful expression.
"Qua! Qua!"
"Meow, he says he really likes it, Boss!"
Glancing at the Pikachus who were petrified because the jam was eaten, Ash smiled and said, "Alright, no more teasing. I'm going to start." Ash then put the last special spice into the jam. In an instant, a delicious aroma spread throughout the forest where they were!
"Pikachu!"
A group of Pikachus ran straight toward Ash. They all stared together at the jam Ash had made. Seeing the gathered Pikachus, Ash smiled. "Excellent. Step one is complete."
Looking at the gathered Pikachus, Ash pulled out a large spoon from his bag and said, "Starting now, those who want to eat line up from smallest to largest! Then bring your own berries over. This stuff tastes even better spread on berries."
Hearing Ash say this, the Pikachus looked at each other, then quickly lined up as Ash instructed, before heading off together to find berries. While they were looking for berries, Ash distributed the portions he had prepared for his own Pokémon, as well as for Misty and the others.
"Pika!" One by one, the obedient Pikachus lined up to receive the jam, not forgetting to thank Ash. Ash smiled as he welcomed the next one to get their jam.
Seeing Ash like this, Lara said with a somewhat helpless smile, "Here he goes again... Ash's food tactic."
Suzie, seeing Ash's beaming smile, chuckled and said, "I guess only Ash could use a method like this."
"Uh, Miss Suzie, Miss Lara, what's going on?" Brock and Misty found Lara and Suzie's behavior a bit strange.
Suzie smiled and explained, "Ash clearly has his eyes on these Pikachus. And right now, he's using the method he's best at to attract them."
Hearing Suzie's explanation, Brock and Misty suddenly realized what Ash was planning! Very soon, all the Pikachus present were captivated by Ash's food tactic. Furthermore, due to Ash's Pikachu vouching for them, the Pikachus happily grew close to Misty and the others.
Seeing that the timing was right, Ash said to the Pikachus, "Pikachus, do you want to be able to eat this kind of jam all the time in the future?"
"Pika?" The Pikachus looked at Ash in confusion, then licked the leftover jam on their lips and nodded.
Seeing their reaction, Ash couldn't help but smile and said, "Then, do you want to come to my home? There are lots of these berries in my orchard, not to mention plenty of jam."
Misty and Brock watched speechlessly as Ash abducted them just like that. Could this method really work? Lara, however, who had long known about Ash's penchant for abducting Pokémon, looked at Ash with a smile. 'He hasn't changed a bit...'
Watching Ash constantly dangling the jam in front of the Pikachus, Lara recalled how Ash used to tempt Scyther and the others. Even though he ultimately had to defeat Scyther in battle, the initial food temptation was definitely put to use. "Isn't this perfectly fine? Just like Ash said..."
"Pokémon are partners of the heart. As long as you use your heart, they will definitely respond to you!" Hearing Lara and Suzie say the same thing in unison, Misty and Brock were taken aback for a moment before they both smiled.
Misty looked at Ash, who was already haggling with the Pikachus, and couldn't help but say: "Perhaps that's why Ash's Pokémon like him so much. It seems I still have a lot to learn from Ash."
On Ash's end, he was shaking hands with the Pikachus. "Deal! Then my family members will be keeping you company from now on."
"Pika!"
