Chapter 218: The Spire's Ignition
"Valerie, stop!" Wraith yelled, finally breaking his silence. He rushed forward, grabbing her arm. "The Spire requires a living conduit to transmit the signal through his firewall! If you step into that array, the sheer volume of raw data is going to fry your nervous system! Your physical body won't survive the translation!"
Valerie looked at the Assassin. She looked at his desperate, pleading eyes.
"He walked into the absolute center of the universe and murdered the creators of reality just so I could wake up," Valerie said softly, gently pulling her arm out of Wraith's grip. "He owes me a coffee. I am not letting him die in the dark before he pays up."
She turned her back on them and stepped directly onto the glowing platform.
"Engage it," Valerie commanded.
Galleon slammed his fist onto the primary ignition rune.
