Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 "Happy Graduation"

In the northern city, the sun was blazing high in the sky on June. The wind seemed to be blowing out of a furnace, stirring up waves of heat, and the air was filled with an indescribable oppressive heat and agitation.

Today was the graduation ceremony of the 20th class of Tsinghua University. The law school arranged for the students to take graduation photos at 10 a.m. The photographer was calmly adjusting the equipment, the vice dean was chatting with the president, and no one paid attention to the students who were exposed to the scorching sun.

The sun was shining brightly, with a temperature of over 30 degrees Celsius. Wearing the synthetic fabric master's gowns that could cause rashes, the crowd was full of complaints.

"Are you going to kill us? Notify us to come and queue up at 8 o'clock. Now it's already 10 o'clock and the photo session hasn't started. The administrative office must have been dead wrong. It's disgusting that they're still making people wait for graduation!"

"The leader is shading themselves under the parasols, so we have to be exposed to the strong sun. Regarding the class gap and differential treatment, it depends on you, Tsinghua!"

"Can it hurry up! I have a date in the afternoon!" "..."

Yan Mu and her roommate Lin Shuqi shared a sunshade umbrella together. Lin Shuqi, exhausted, leaned on Yan Mu's shoulder, tugged at her collar, and weakly said, "Wearing a pink collar with a monthly salary of 3,000 yuan, I'm going to work until I die."

On their left, a classmate casually asked, "What day do you start working?"

"Work? I've never been off work, okay? Today I took a graduation photo and asked the team leader for leave to come back!"

In her junior year, Lin Shuqi interned at a prestigious firm. After half a year of hard work, she got a chance to stay on, waiting only for her graduation certificate to become a permanent employee.

To enter such a prestigious firm are the best of the best, but the efforts behind it are not something to be shared with outsiders. There are endless shifts, endless dirty work, leaders' ruthless manipulation, cheaply obedient students from prestigious universities competing... Even those from Tsinghua University with both bachelor's and master's degrees couldn't slack off at all.

Mocking the annoying things she encountered at work, finally, a thousand words condensed into one sentence -

"Why am I not a rich second-generation?"

The classmates angrily agreed, "Why am I not a rich second-generation?"

In the past, Yan Mu would also tease about the unfairness of the world, but now -

She is a rich fourth-generation.

Oh no, her grandfather was a rich second-generation, and she is the fourth-generation rich.

Two generations richer than the rich second-generation.

They were mocking and complaining here, and after about ten minutes, the staff member held a megaphone and shouted:

"Start taking photos now!"

"Students, line up from shortest to tallest!"

Yan Mu was 170 cm tall, considered tall among girls, and was finally assigned to the last row from the bottom. Lin Shuqi was from the north and was two centimeters taller than her, standing on her right side. While lining up, she casually asked her, "Have you found a job yet?"

The relationship between their dormitory was good, although not as close as being best friends, they would chat in the dormitory group almost every day.

This was Yan Mu's conclusion after observing for the past half month.

"I received an interview invitation from the legal department of Fengxing Technology. Let's give it a try first. If rejected, we can apply elsewhere." Yan Mu said.

Lin Shuqi looked at her enviously, "Aww, if my family were this wealthy, I wouldn't be so leisurely and calmly looking for a legal position."

Lin Shuqi knew that Yan Mu's family was in a good position. On the first day of school, a driver brought her in in a luxury car. Lin Shuqi searched online about the car and found out it was a Bentley Continental, worth 4 million yuan.

And Yan Mu didn't live on campus. Her family bought an apartment for her near the school, and she would only sleep in the dormitory when she had late classes or group meetings that were too late.

The life of a rich fourth-generation is truly relaxing and happy, Lin Shuqi thought enviously. But on the other hand, thinking about Yan Mu saying that she got married for family interests and married a stranger she had only met a few times, she felt a little comfort, at least she could have free love and marriage.

The two chatted idly, and the photographer held a megaphone and shouted:

"Listen to my command, when I say 'three', everyone throw your hats into the air!"

"Three!"

"Two!"

"One!!"

With the last sound falling, countless master's caps flew into the air, and everyone shouted out the last vigor of their student days.

"Happy graduation!"

"Prosperous future!"

"Everything goes well!"

The sun shone directly into the eyes of Yan Mu, who stared at the black hats flying up and down, without any joy or sadness of graduation, only one thought remained in her mind -

Is this considered a painless master's graduation for her?

-

After taking the graduation photos, Yan Mu and her roommates went to have the farewell dinner together. In the afternoon, they went to the counselor's office to collect their graduation certificates and degree certificates. Then, they took a group photo with their roommates. Everything was over by 5:30 p.m.

Yan Mu had already moved her things away. After taking the photos, she said goodbye to her roommates and walked towards the school gate with a sunshade umbrella.

Ten minutes ago, her husband Lu Yancheng sent a text message: [Is it over? I'll go to the school to pick you up. Let's go to Nanqiao Lane in the evening.]

Yan Mu: [OK. I'll wait for you at the northwest gate.]

Lu Yancheng: [I'll probably arrive at six.]

Yan Mu: [OK.]

On campus, no vehicles from outside are allowed to enter. Yan Mu could only walk to the gate to wait for him. Judging by the time, she had enough time. She walked slowly, casually observing this strange school.

Yan Mu had both her undergraduate and master's degrees from the Law School of Tsinghua University. But she was very unfamiliar with this place because she had lost her memory.

Yes, such a dramatic event happened to her.

It is said that she was driving when she was distracted and hit a large truck. After waking up, she only remembered things from seven years ago.

The doctor said there was a blood clot blocking her brain, and once the blood clot cleared, she would regain her memory. Currently, the technology couldn't help her. After hearing this, Yan Mu didn't force herself to regain her memory quickly. Instead, she pieced together the events that happened in the past seven years.

In one sentence, it was - She won the lottery!!

In Yan Mu's memory, she had just finished the college entrance examination. Her parents gave her some travel funds, and she and her best friend planned to travel to the city she had been longing for for a long time.

To save money, they bought an early morning five o'clock flight ticket. After boarding the plane, they became increasingly sleepy, their eyelids getting heavier and heavier. They couldn't hold on and closed their eyes. When they woke up, they found themselves as the second daughter of the Yan family and married to a super rich and handsome husband.

The Yan family was because her father was the second son of the Shanghai City Yan family. At that time, to be with her mother, they broke off relations with the Yan family. Her grandfather had ignored the family for the three of them until her distant uncle encountered an air crash.

The grandfather endured the pain of losing his son and took them back home.

As for why she married Lu Yancheng -

During this period, Yan Mu did rehabilitation training and the most important thing was to inquire about what happened between her and Lu Yancheng.

From the words of her best friend and secretary, Yan Mu pieced together the truth of the story: She and Lu Yancheng received a pre-marriage gift first and then fell in love.

Three years ago, they had a business marriage. During their relationship after marriage, they gradually fell in love and had a very deep relationship.

This could be seen from Lu Yancheng's taking care of her in the hospital these days.

Although she had lost seven years of memory, her habits wouldn't change. Her hands couldn't move. The previous few days, it was Lu Yancheng who fed her, the movements were skillful and natural, and it didn't seem like it was the first time doing this. The food he fed her was all her favorite dishes.

He was gentle and considerate to her. Although she didn't see intense love in his eyes, Yan Mu could tell from the little things that their relationship was indeed quite good.

At least it wasn't a plastic couple.

And Lu Yancheng was very good-looking. Yan Mu was stunned at the first sight and stared at him for a long time like a lovesick person.

In her shallow and narrow eighteen-year memory, the most beautiful person she had ever seen was just the top male star in the entertainment industry who was praised as a god-like face. Lu Yancheng was even more beautiful than that so-called god-like face. He had thick makeup, thin lips, narrow eyes, and pure black pupils. When looking at each other, it was very easy to give someone a strong sense of oppression.

His body was perfect to the point of being comparable to a male model. At the first meeting after awakening, he wore a simple white shirt, with a straight shoulder and neck line, outlining a firm and broad shoulder, and his black pants wrapped around slender legs.

If originally only 50% believed her best friend, at that moment, it rose to 95% - falling in love with him should be easy. In summary, during these seven years, she obtained a master's degree from Tsinghua University painlessly, became a rich family's daughter-in-law, and married a seemingly perfect husband.

The tall willow tree branches were lush and produced a shadow on the ground. Yan Mu came to her senses and had already reached the entrance of Tsinghua University.

The entrance of the country's top university is never short of luxury cars, but top-end luxury cars stand out everywhere. Yan Mu immediately spotted the black SUV, the Crown Victor, parked beside the flower bed.

This is Lu Yancheng's car.

Yan Mu subconsciously let out a sigh of relief and walked towards the Crown Victor.

The man in the passenger seat got out and respectfully opened the door in the back seat, "Madam." "..."

Yan Mu's eyelids twitched. She still couldn't naturally accept this title.

"Um," she replied and bent to get into the car.

Lu Yancheng was on the phone. Hearing the commotion, he glanced at her and continued to talk about work-related matters with the person on the other end of the line.

Yan Mu let out a sigh of relief and sat upright in the car seat.

There was a faint aroma in the car, like the incense from a temple. It was unknown whether it was the original smell inside the car or the sandalwood scent from Lu Yancheng's body that had spread. The smell made one feel a sense of tranquility for no reason.

Only the low, magnetic male voice remained in her ears. Yan Mu listened for a while and found it boring. She raised her eyes and casually glanced, her gaze paused, and a row of cute lamb figurines were neatly placed in front of the car, incompatible with the heavy metallic feel inside.

"This is what you bought," Lu Yancheng's voice suddenly sounded in her ear.

Yan Mu was startled by his sudden outburst and was stunned for a moment. She glanced at him with a sideways look: "I bought it?"

Lu Yancheng glanced at the row of childish figurines and gave a vague explanation: "Last month, when I was visiting Chinatown in the United States, you bought them and placed them in the car." "... "Oh."

Although she knew they were a loving couple, Yan Mu really didn't know what to say to him. Perhaps due to her memory loss, she felt unfamiliar with him.

She responded dryly and then the car fell into silence.

There was no music playing in the car, and it was exceptionally quiet, which made Yan Mu feel uneasy for no reason.

People are always confused and nervous about the unknown.

"Is there anything else bothering you?" After a moment of silence, Lu Yancheng asked her again.

Yan Mu: "Everything is fine."

"Or do you still have no recollection of anything?"

Yan Mu lowered her eyes: "Yes."

Lu Yancheng stared at her fair face and whispered, "Don't worry, just think slowly."

"Um." Yan Mu responded, and seeing him bend down to take the things from the shopping bag, her white shirt was rolled up to her arms, the muscles on her forearm were sharp and defined, the veins on the back of her hand were prominent, and the strength was evident.

She watched as he took out a black velvet box from the shopping bag and handed it to her, "Happy graduation."

Yan Mu was stunned for a moment and then slowly took the gift box, opened it, and inside lay a delicate lady's wristwatch.

The silver dial was set with several diamonds, the strap was soft leather material, the touch was gentle and comfortable, expensive yet not overly luxurious, simple yet elegant, very suitable for Yan Mu who was about to enter the workplace.

"Dislike it?" Lu Yancheng asked when he saw her expression was stunned.

"No, I like it very much, thank you..." Yan Mu met his dark eyes and swallowed hard, "Husband" was a word she couldn't utter at the moment.

Lu Yancheng looked at her sideways.

Somehow, Yan Mu's reflexes tightened her spine, and her fist clenched silently.

She smiled lightly at him and said softly, "It's fine if you like it."
