Lexianna looked down at her beautiful new baby. He was sleeping so peacefully in the soft white blanket. He didn't know about the scary storm outside. He didn't know his daddies were getting hurt on the roof.
Lexianna felt a giant fire wake up inside her heart. It was not the angry fire of a Warlord. It was the fierce, protective fire of a mommy and a wife. She was not going to let the Supreme Demon Emperor hurt her family.
She gently kissed the baby's soft cheek one more time. Then, she held him out to Sybil.
"Take him," Lexianna commanded. Her voice was not tired anymore. It was very strong.
Sybil's bird eyes went wide. She carefully took the tiny baby, holding him tight against her chest. "Princess, what are you doing? You just had a baby! You need to lay down and rest! You are too weak!"
