Chapter 39 - Chapter 39

Template System:

Template Character: "One Piece" Admiral Kizaru

Fusion Degree: 45%

Thanks to the attention he drew during the early graduation exam, and to the fact that the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, publicly announced he would take on a student again—

In just two years, the progress bar of the character in Kizaru's mind had gone from 20% to 45%.

As the fusion advanced, Kizaru once again unlocked two more abilities belonging to Admiral Kizaru.

The taijutsu skills (including swordsmanship) from Kizaru's youth and the powerful Haki that Admiral Kizaru possessed in his younger days.

The fusion of these two abilities, combined with the ninjutsu and genjutsu Kizaru had learned from Sarutobi Hiruzen over the past two years, as well as the sealing techniques taught by Tsunade's grandmother, Uzumaki Mito—Grandma Mito—had made his strength even more overwhelming.

At the same time, over these two years, Kizaru had also been developing combinations of ninjutsu with his Devil Fruit powers.

The combination of genjutsu and his light powers had given birth to his technique of invisibility.

The combination of sealing techniques with his light powers allowed him to create "flash bombs" that remained stable for a short period of time and could be remotely detonated.

These were all considerable achievements Kizaru had developed in just two years.

At the gate of Konohagakure, Danzō and one of his subordinates stood quietly, looking off into the distance as they waited for Kizaru's return.

High in the sky, a golden light flashed.

It streaked downward and landed in front of Danzō, reshaping into human form as it touched the ground.

Seeing Kizaru return safely, Danzō finally relaxed completely. He already knew his nephew's strength, but until he saw him with his own eyes, there had still been a sliver of worry in his chest.

However, as a master of expression control, Danzō didn't let any of that show on his face.

Looking up at Kizaru, who was now much taller than him, Danzō asked in a calm tone,

"Have all the enemies been dealt with?"

"Ah, ara ara~ those enemies were really scary, you know. Every single one of them was like a monster~"

Kizaru replied with a lazy grin, his expression just a bit too lewd, like some shameless pervert trying to play innocent.

Who's the real monster here?

Everyone present instinctively glanced at Kizaru's smiling face and, in their hearts, couldn't help but complain.

"Any survivors?" Danzō continued.

Kizaru didn't answer with words. He simply lifted his hand and made a V-shaped "yeah" sign.

Danzō gave a small nod. He didn't bother asking whether Kizaru meant one or two survivors.

As long as there were survivors—

that was enough.

"Go back. Leave the rest to me."

"Thank you for your hard work, Uncle~"

With a bright smile and a casual wave, Kizaru stuffed both hands into his pockets and started walking away in his usual unhurried, almost graceful manner.

Watching Kizaru's retreating back, Danzō suddenly let out a short laugh. Then he opened his mouth and offered a warning:

"Tsunade has returned with Jiraiya. She's looking for you right now."

Kizaru's steps clearly faltered.

He stopped in place, then turned around with a helpless look on his face to glance back at Danzō.

"Why would you leave such terrifying news for the very end, Uncle? That's really too much, you know~"

"You caused this yourself. Solve it yourself."

Seeing Kizaru actually rattled for once, Danzō slightly curled the corner of his mouth in amusement.

"What a troublesome thing…"

Muttering in complaint, Kizaru turned back around and continued toward the village.

The "trouble" Danzō was talking about was indeed trouble.

Not emotional trouble.

Just… headache-level trouble.

And that trouble's name was Senju Nawaki.

Tsunade's biological younger brother.

Orochimaru's first student.

A week ago, Kizaru had kicked Nawaki into the hospital under the pretext of "assessment guidance".

Even with an optimistic estimate, Nawaki wouldn't be discharged for at least three months.

Of course, Kizaru could claim he had no guilty conscience at all.

He had sent this brat—who was four years older than him—into the hospital for two very good reasons.

First: he remembered that, in the original timeline, this guy died on a mission on the eve of the outbreak of the Second Great Ninja War—blown up by explosive tags.

Second: Root had recently obtained information that Senju Nawaki's name had already appeared on the assassination lists of several hidden villages.

For the sake of this boy's life—this boy who had almost no talent in ninjutsu, decent physical ability at best, and yet kept shouting about wanting to become Hokage—

Kizaru chose the simplest and crudest way to remove the danger.

That was to send anyone who was bound to "have an accident" straight into the hospital ahead of time to lie down and rest.

And if he recovered?

Well… Kizaru could only say that sometimes his light-speed kicks had a will of their own, you know~

That kid might really end up spending a few years in the hospital.

Taking advantage of the tense international situation, Konoha had recalled Tsunade by Hokage's order. At the same time, Jiraiya had been called back from his travels and "book research" out in the ninja world.

Kizaru had found Senju Nawaki at just that timing... right when the boy had freshly graduated from the Academy and was brimming with excitement about the grand start of his ninja career.

Faced with Kizaru's request for a "duel assessment," that idiot Senju rookie had agreed without a second thought.

Witnessed by his two teammates, Nawaki had been sent flying by a single kick from Kizaru and smashed into a tree several meters away.

Just like that, Kizaru—without using his Devil Fruit abilities or Haki at all—had kicked Nawaki into the hospital with nothing but pure physical strength, temporarily cutting off his fresh new ninja career.

From that alone, it wasn't hard to imagine how Tsunade had felt.

She returned to the village in high spirits, ready to celebrate her little brother's achievement as a full-fledged shinobi—

Only to be greeted by the news that he'd been hospitalized.

Her brother…

Just out of surgery and wrapped up like a mummy, still managed to smile at her and say,

"Onee-chan, don't be mad. Don't blame Kizaru-kun."

Tsunade's veins practically popped on her forehead on the spot when she saw that scene.

This brat…

Jiraiya, meanwhile, trailed behind Tsunade quietly, not daring to say a single reckless word for fear of being dragged into the blast radius.

"That guy definitely did it on purpose!"

Tsunade's sleeves were already rolled up, her chest rising and falling with each furious breath.

She looked half a step away from transforming into a full-on female tyrannosaurus.

Seeing that, Jiraiya finally couldn't just watch anymore. For the sake of nephew-kun, he grit his teeth, stepped up, and said,

"C-Calm down, Tsunade! I'm sure Kizaru-kun just got careless. No need to get so mad…"

Tsunade glared at him with eyes like a raging beast.

"If it weren't for you, why would I have left the village in the first place? If I hadn't left, do you think Nawaki would be lying in a hospital bed right now? This is all your fault!"

The moment she finished, she raised her right hand high as if she were about to strike.

Knowing he'd taken the blame yet again, Jiraiya could only smile bitterly in his heart. At the same time, he hurriedly raised both arms to protect his head.

"H-Hey, this is a hospital! Calm down, Tsunade!"

Jiraiya's words weren't completely useless.

Tsunade, who had been about to unleash her wrath on him, froze for a second, glared at him one more time, and slowly lowered her hand.

"Seeing a sight like this… is really intimidating, you know. I'm honestly a little scared to meet you right now, Tsunade-neesan~"

At that moment, Kizaru's voice—hovering somewhere between lewd and mocking—drifted in from a distance.

Tsunade's veins bulged again. She turned her head like a predator catching scent of prey.

She saw Kizaru not far away, left hand in his pocket, right hand holding a document envelope, a smile on his face as he approached.

Tsunade charged at him without a second thought.

"You bastard! Why did you do this?!"

"Tsunade, calm down!"

Jiraiya quickly stepped in, grabbing her before she could swing.

Kizaru raised the document bag in his hand and pressed it lightly between them, using it as a makeshift shield.

"This is Root's intel," he said with a crooked smile. "Someone's already set their sights on Nawaki, you know."

Tsunade, who had been about to explode, stopped short.

She shot Kizaru a glare, then shifted her gaze to the document bag in front of her.

She snatched it from his hand, opened it, and began reading quickly and carefully.

Once she'd gone through all of it, Tsunade suddenly raised her head and fixed Kizaru with a serious look.

"When did you find out?"

"When you went out on your mission," Kizaru replied, still smiling.

Tsunade gripped the document so tightly the paper creased under her fingers. Fear churned under her anger, and she ground her teeth.

"Those bastards…"

"In the past two years," Kizaru said, "I've been targeted in five assassination attempts—three from Sunagakure, Kumogakure, and Iwagakure combined. You know all this, Tsunade-neesan."

Tsunade nodded, indicating she did.

Jiraiya, who had been away traveling for almost two years, knew none of it. He stared at Kizaru, shock and concern written plainly on his face.

"The three hidden villages failed all five assassination attempts, and now they've shifted their sights to Nawaki—someone who carries the direct bloodline of the First Hokage."

Kizaru's tone turned colder as he continued.

"The appearance of a genius like me in Konoha has already made them lose sleep.

"If Nawaki inherits the First Hokage's talent and even awakens the legendary Wood Release… that's a future they simply can't accept.

"So this freshly graduated genin, Senju Nawaki, has become their new target."
