After escaping from the fire, she attempts to end her life by drowning herself in water.
She fully submerges herself in a nearby water reservoir, but even after being completely underwater, nothing happens to her. She remains just as safe in the water as she is on land.
After coming out of the water, she picks up a sword from a nearby shop and tries to behead herself. But the moment the sword touches her neck, it shatters and falls to the ground.
All the methods of death that come to her mind—Princess Raatri tries each and every one of them, but none have any effect on her. Not even a single wound appears on her body.
Exhausted, she returns to Subahu Lok, goes to the palace, and while remembering Maharaj Daitya Subahu, she lies down on his throne and falls asleep there.
Morning arrives.
Loud drums are beating outside the palace.
The sound of the drums wakes Princess Raatri, and she says to herself—
"What… what is this sound!?"
"Does that mean everyone has returned!?"
Thinking this, she looks outside the palace toward the assembly area and—
"What is this!?"
"Who are all these people who look exactly like me!?"
"It feels as if they are all my replicas… my look-alikes."
Princess Raatri steps outside the palace and shouts angrily—
"Who are all of you!?"
All the women bow to her together and say—
"Victory to Daitya Maharani Sanjh!"
"Victory to Daitya Maharani Sanjh!"
One of the look-alikes steps forward and says—
"Greetings, Maharani. We, your subjects, welcome you. After such a long time, you have returned here."
Another one says—
"Yes, Maharani. Where were you all this time!? We tried so hard to find you, but you were nowhere to be found. We had almost lost all hope of ever seeing you again. Thank God you are safe and standing before us. But where were you for so long?"
Princess Raatri, confused and angry, says—
"Who are all of you? And where have you come from in Subahu Lok?"
"Where is our Maharaj?"
"Where are all the people of Subahu Lok?"
"Whoever you all are, I warn you—if even the slightest harm has come to our Maharaj or our people, I will destroy all of you."
"So stop this mockery and tell me where Maharaj Subahu is."
"Maharaj Subahu!?" (all the look-alikes say in shock)
"Maharani, who is Maharaj Subahu? We have never heard this name before."
In anger, Princess Raatri grabs the throat of the first look-alike and, clenching her teeth, says—
"I told you—no mockery. Tell me where my Maharaj and my people are!"
"Maharani, what are you doing!? Please let her go. We are telling the truth—we do not know any Subahu."
Just then, from behind, another look-alike places a cloth soaked with some chemical over Princess Raatri's face to make her unconscious.
Princess Raatri grabs her hand and pulls her forward, but by then the chemical has already taken effect, and she falls unconscious.
When she regains consciousness, she finds herself chained in front of a physician.
Seeing this, she becomes extremely angry and orders them to free her. But they say—
"Forgive us, Maharani. We know that our behavior has angered you, but what could we do? You suddenly started behaving very strangely. We believe your health is not well and that you need treatment."
"That is why we have brought you to the greatest and most experienced physician of our Illusion Realm. Do not worry—she will heal you soon. But seeing your anger, we cannot free you until your treatment is complete."
"Once you recover, you may punish us however you wish."
"Vaidya ji, please begin the treatment of Maharani immediately."
"Yes."
Saying this, all the look-alikes leave Princess Raatri with the physician.
Princess Raatri, confused, says to the physician—
"Whoever you are, release me. Otherwise, I will grant you all death—such a death you could never even imagine."
"Forgive me, Maharani, but I cannot release you—not until you recognize all of us. Until then, your treatment will continue."
Saying this, the physician begins her treatment.
The treatment methods are extremely strange, causing Princess Raatri great distress.
Days pass while she remains with the physician.
During this time, Princess Raatri understands at least this much—that this is not Subahu Lok. It only appears like it. All of this is likely some kind of illusion, and that is why they see her as their Maharani.
"If I pretend to recognize them, perhaps I can be freed from this captivity. Then I can stay among them and try to find out who they really are."
"Otherwise, they will keep me imprisoned like this and continue my treatment. And I will never be able to escape, no matter how many times I tell them the truth."
