Chapter 53 - Don't Feel Like Returning Home

Walking out of the forest, the sun is still in the air, the heat beams down on my face, making it feel like a sauna but in my mind, I don't feel the pain. My bow, slaps my back with every step.

I'm more concerned on my feelings on how my life is gonna go.

I break through the place, and see the auras of all the people again, it brings me a sense of unknown sadness.

Seeing them, happy, running around playing, socializing. Something I'm not the very best with, and I wonder how I'm unable to get over this feeling of Apa leaving.

I continue walking, and for the first time since I think I've been here, I feel a drop of water hit my head, and another and another, until eventually rain, begins to pelt onto my body.

'What a day?'

The rain, slowly begins to take over the feeling of the sauna over and i'm left with the feeling of unknowing coldness.

As that happens people all begin to flood into houses. Some not into their own houses, but the houses of those that they are comfortable with.

Lifting my hands over my head, I try my best to block the rain and make it home, my arms being flooded with water, and my clothes sticking to my skin.

Once I'm at my place I push past the gate and walk to the front door, taking a few steps up the path, I stop in front of the door, under a small amount of free space under the canopy from the roof, I hear the slightly obscured voices of the people inside.

"Something was wrong with him. He was angry. I've never seen him like that, he... He wasn't himself."

I could tell... they were talking about me.

Dropping my bow to the side of the door, to stop myself from carrying it. My feet turned my body and I walked away, going back to the gate, this time, just like every other time, I push to get out, using my knee once again to push it open.

Holding my arms over my head to stop the rain from pelting my head.

I continue down the path, out of the village.

My feet just walk and walk and walk, seeing that the only people outside are the ones, with the ability to combat the rain, like raincoats, or the very big surprise to myself umbrellas, or well not really considering the fact that there is a thing that can literally disguise the surroundings of a place.

Other people stand under balconies, or under rooftops to stay out of the rain, if not, they're walking the same as me, hands over their heads, rain punching their arms to make contact with themselves.

"How was I suppose to know the rain would come?"

A man says to his female companion beside him when I pass.

"Damn, guess, hunting will have to be put on hold for now, since we can't go out in the rain."

Another woman says to the group of people with her.

The group all, semi-collectively, groans.

"Well, who wants to get a drink?"

A guy says, with a very cheery voice.

I continue my walk past them, not giving my attention to anyone as I keep my head down.

As I continue, I walk right into a someone. Hitting them with my full body and falling to the ground, I look up to see a white skinned guy with the aura of dark yellow piss, an ugly face, and balding.

"Sorry."

He moves closer and gets all up in my face, his stench is undeniably that of beer, or mead or whatever anyone gets to ignore the horrors of life.

"Yeah you should be sorry kid. You piece of Sh-!"

"Leave him alone."

A guy says, sounding the exact same as the one that offered people drinks on him, I turn my face to see a dark haired men, with a build, that was fit, but small.

A katana on his side, the hilt in a beautiful rose, as vines cover the hilt in it's beautiful, but painful look.

His cheery voice now changed with something serious.

The drunk man turns his face to look at the guy that talked to him.

"And why..?"

HIC:

"...why should, I..."

He stops to point to himself.

"...stop bothering him!?"

He points to me now.

People are beginning to look over at us.

"Because he doesn't need to have a piss mouthed, disgustingly ugly piece of crap bothering him."

Another woman comes to my defense, a girl taller than the cheery guy, her white hair long and touching her lower back, and muscles with more muscles on top of themselves, with armor that shouldn't be armor, since it exposes her heavily muscular abdomen.

She comes to my side and picks me up.

"So lee... leave the kid alone!"

Another girl, shorter just under the cheery guys height, with a staff, that as tall as her.

Her hair, brown and wearing a coat, to combat the rain, the other two just ignoring the rain.

I wipe the rain from my face, just for more to wash over it again.

The drunk guy smiles at them and goes on about his day, not before saying:

"Yeah, i'll get you for this."

He walks off.

I turn and now with a better sight of them, I see their auras, the smaller girl has a green aura, the cheery guy, with a bright yellow aura, and the tall woman has a orange and red mixed colored aura.

"Y.. You o... O.. Okay?"

The small girl asks and I nod.

"Yeah."

My voice sounds disheartened.

"Just a long day."

They all look around each other and then the cheery and tall woman nod to each other.

"How old are you kid?"

"About ten."

The cheery guy leans down and puts his hand on my shoulder, his bright aura covering my vision of other auras. His hand shaking as he grips my shoulder.

"Wanna drink with us?"

~~~
I found myself in a pub without much thought to myself.
"Agreeing to follow us, and get a drink?"
The Cheery guy laughs like crazy as he sits across from me.
Muscular woman sits beside him and small woman sits besides me.
"Yeah, for all we know we could be kidnappers. Or worse."
The muscular woman howls a laugh.
And the smaller woman beside me whispers a laugh at the joke.
I don't laugh instead I just stare at them.
"Come on kid. That was really good."
Their laughter is just put together, with all the howling laughter from everyone else, it just combines with their own laughter.
And in this full pub, it's just more and more louder with every person insde, not caring about people just wanting a drink.
The cheery guy raises his hand and a young looking waitress comes up to us.
"Okay, Two cups of Mead, I'm guessing tea, with beer mixed in it...?"
He points to the small, timid girl, and she nods at him.
"And a cup of good ole' milk, but cold."
She writes all that down on a napkin and continues on about her day going away from us.
"Milk?"
The muscular lady asks.
"Yes, Angel, he's still too young to get anything alcohol oriented."
Angel, the tall muscular woman is named, Angel.
"Yeah, I guess that is true."
She shrugs her shoulders.
"OH?! Crap yeah, we never introduced each other."
The cheery guy says.
"I am John."
He points to the muscular lady.
"She is..."
"Angel..."
She interrupts him:
"I am Angel."
"And the last one is.."
"I'm... I'm Timi... My name is Timi."
"Hey, I'm..."
I pause forgetting my name for a second as my mind is flooded with many things right now.
"I'm lazuli."
"So... Lazuli. Why were you out in the rain?"
John asks.
"I was thinking. My mind was being flooded with many things."
"So you're not homeless?"
"No, I'm just too... deep in thought to want to go home right now."
The drinks comes rather fast, as it does, the two across from me and Timi drink up, and immediately order another.
Yelling it out at the same time, in comparison, both me and Timi, enjoy our two drinks. Both of their auras spiking as they do all the same things together.
Timi's drink coming in a glass, cup. Her drink is pink, with small amounts of seed looking things inside of it.
Mine also in a glass cup, just with milk instead of semi-transparent drink inside of it.
"W.. why not just go home and think about stuff, w... with your family?"
Timi asks me.
As she slowly drinks her drink.
"They are one of the reasons for my over thinking."
John and Angel talk together as another drink comes, they drink in unison and order another drink together again, auras spiking all the same once more.
"Wa... Wanna talk a.. about it?"
Timi asks.
"Which one?"
"I.. uh… I don't know. Which… ever one you want to talk about."
She takes another sip of her drink.
"My friend, she's… she's leaving."
"Oh, that's… sad. Was… was she close to you?"
"Yeah."
I drink a bit of the milk that was handed to me.
"Why is she on your mind..?"
"Because she… I don't know… she was something of a mentor to me."
"Oh…?"
She looks like she's trying to make her look like a mentor in her mind.
"She helped you with something?"
"Yeah. She helped me learn Soul Magic, or at the very least Soul Energy."
My mind was clouded in that moment to think clearly.
"Wha… what type of person was she?"
She took a gulp before she continued her sentence.
I let out a chuckle.
'Can't tell her she's an elf.'
I take in a puff of air.
She looks at me funnily.
"She… she was serious a good majority of the time, also very, smart…"
I chuckle again.
"She was Very smart."
I took a drink of my milk.
"She helped me with whatever I needed help with. Which is a lot of things. She just knew what to say for me to understand."
"That's nice."
"Yeah. But before she left. She kissed me."
Angel and John weren't yelling and laughing crazily now, they were just listening to what I had to say.
But they moved a bit closer without me knowing, since I'm looking down at my milk.
I look up and it's like a jumps scared.
"WHAT THE HELL!"
"Oh Sorry."
They say in unison and scotch back to sit down.
"But hurry up finish your story I wanna know what you did."
John says.
"Then I came here and met a guy named John and two women named Angel and Timi."
"Wow, those guys must have bought him a drink?"
"Yeah, they bought me milk."
I pick up my cup.
Then drink alittle bit of it.
"Also why am I just allowed into a pub?"
"Well first of all, many recruits for knights are about the same age as you so, you can't really turn away a man about your age."
"Bu… But they still don't allow drinks for them even if they are a kni… knight. They offer any other option though."
"Okay. Okay. I have a question. What's with your eye?"
I touch the lower part of my eyelid, the one that makes me sees all of their passive auras.
"I have an Inherited Soul ability. Or atleast that's what people have been telling me."
"Really? Then why does your eye have to be two colors."
Angel asks.
"God wanted to give me something to treasure."
"Which?"
John asks.
"What?"
"Which God?"
"The one that's helped me with one of my worst problems I have ever experienced."
"Oh… okay."
John says and they all look around each other.
"I guess, there was another problem… a girl named Jahar. She.."
"The Strongest of Reight Competitor!"
That's one of the first thing Timi says without stuttering.
"Oh, yeah that crazy fighting stance woman?"
"Yeah, she committed a crime."
"What crime? Being a badass?"
Angel says, as if admiring her.
Slowly I feel the heat rising again, and my eye slightly burning again.
"She tried to kidnap many kids… you know that?"
I grip my glass.
My eye begins to burn with anger.
John looks at me with his yellow aura and Angel with her orange/red mix of her aura, and lastly Timi with her, green aura.
"Okay let's calm down."
John says as my hand griping around the entirety of the glass and a small crack appears on it.
~~~

Sply entered the pub an hour ago, and all she wanted was a glass of milk.

Her eyes were full of thought as she sat at a stall at the front of the pub and she was just stuck deep in thought.

She fumbled with the necklace around her neck, a tear rolled down her eye.

"I miss you... but, I'll make sure to not let the same mistake happen twice."

She finishes the milk and puts down three coins, all copper looking.

"Thanks for the cold milk."

AS she turns she sees a face all to familiar to make it a mistake.

"Why is Lazuli in a pub?"
